After telling his parents the news—and them not being as mad as they thought they'd be— Colby and Rebecca felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of their shoulders. Especially Rebecca.

The duo continued talking with his parents about how they were going to navigate things now, and how Holly and his dad would always be there to help when needed. Holly also mentioned how she wants them to come over more often for dinner, and of course, they both agreed.

They left after being there for almost three hours, and Colby was going to drop Rebecca off at her apartment. He parked the car and they walked hand in hand into the building. They were silent as they rode up in the elevator, but once they started walking out in the hallway, Colby spoke. "I'm happy they're going to be there for us..."

Rebecca looked up at him and smiled. "I am too." She then wrapped her other hand around his arm. "I don't get to see my parents...so them being supportive means a lot to me."

Colby rubbed his thumb over their intertwined hands. "Have you thought about calling them?" He asked as they walked around a corner. "I mean, I don't know how your family's relationship was, but it wouldn't hurt to call..."

Rebecca swallowed as she rubbed her hand down his arm. "It would hurt to call, actually."

They stopped as they reached the outside of her door. Colby removed his hand from hers and wrapped them around her waist. "What happened? If you don't mind me asking..."

Rebecca placed her chin on his chest and looked up at him. "What didn't happen..." She said scoffing. She then sighed. "It's not like I didn't have a good childhood or anything. I had an amazing childhood...but as I got older they started to become really controlling, and me being a teenager, I started getting rebellious."

"They wouldn't let me do anything outside of school, because they thought it would disturb my "road to success"." She paused for a second to roll her eyes. "Me being me, started sneaking out and doing things I shouldn't have been doing as a teenager, and when they found out, I was severely punished."

Colby felt her tense up in his arms. "They took me out of the school I was in and made me be homeschooled. It affected my mental health really bad because my mom wouldn't let me see or talk to my friends. I tried video chatting them on my computer and I locked the door so I wouldn't disturb them, but that ended with my dad taking my door away."

"It stayed like that for almost a year, and my mental health just kept getting worse. I wasn't allowed out of the house, like ever, and I also didn't want to end up getting yelled at over something stupid, so I stayed in my room all day everyday. I had my brother to talk to, but he ended up moving out for college so I felt completely alone."

Rebecca took a deep breath. "After my 17th birthday, they forced me into a boarding school. It was a good school, but the off campus life was terrible, and every time I tried to call for them to let me come home, she yelled at me and hung up the phone. I was 17 and living alone in a town I'd never been to...not a fun way to be a teenager."

Colby swallowed and pressed her closer to him. "You didn't deserve to be treated that way...I'm sorry you had to go through that."

Rebecca just pressed her lips together and rested her head on his chest. "When did you move to America?"
Colby asked pulling on the bottom of her hair.

Rebecca looked back up at him. "I moved back home after I graduated from the stupid boarding school, and I was 19 then. I told her I didn't want to be around them anymore so I just left. Mom was mad, but Dad was just confused. I guess he didn't realize the emotional trauma they put me through." She then sighed. "Anyways, I packed my bags and left. I took moms card and booked a flight out of the country. And somehow Davenport Iowa is where I ended up."

Colby chuckled. "Iowa's been treating you better though right?" When Rebecca smiled Colby leaned down and kissed her once, twice, and then a long, third time. "I can't wait till tomorrow."

Rebecca smiled and brunched her shoulders up excitedly. "I know! We'll be with each other 24/7..."

Colby smirked. "Oh, I know."

Rebecca laughed and patted his chest. "You'll be tired of me in a week."

Colby then shook his head. "I could never get tired of you."

Rebecca blushed and looked towards her door with a sigh, "I should probably get inside...we have a big day tomorrow."

Colby nodded and leaned down to give her a long soft kiss. "I'll be here at ten tomorrow, to help with your boxes."

Rebecca gave him another kiss. "I can just bring them down, make it easier on you."

Colby furrowed his eyebrows and gave her another soft peck on the lips. "You're pregnant remember? You're taking it easy."

Rebecca rolled her eyes with a smile. "Ten weeks actually..."

Colby nodded. "Yep." He then looked up at the clock hanging in the hallway to see it was almost eleven. "I'm gonna get going."

Rebecca nodded and gave him a warm squeeze before pulling back. "Be careful on the roads. I love you."

Colby kissed her cheek. "I love you more."

He brushed her arm and watched her walk into her apartment. He then left while Rebecca locked the door. She turned around and took off her shoes before going to get changed. She then took off her makeup and got into bed to enjoy her last night in that apartment.
