Clint talked to Rebecca and Colby for almost an hour. He told her how happy he was about her becoming a mother, life at the old apartment, and he even told them another story from the navy. Although he talked their ears off, she was happy to see one of her favorite people again.

On the walk back home, Colby talked about how much he liked Clint. He had never met the guy before—except for their short confrontation at the apartment. And seeing him so happy to hear that Rebecca was pregnant, made him feel more confident inside. Now we just need to tell my parents. If he's that excited, they'll can be too right?

They enjoyed their walk back, talking and reminiscing on Clint's stories. Once they got back to Rebecca's apartment, though, they both took a long shower—which lead to them having sex—before calling it a night and going to sleep.

The next morning, Colby and Rebecca woke up, got ready, and headed out the door so that they could go to work. They arrived at the clinic around eight, and since only a few workers were there, Rebecca was able to clean the place up a bit while Colby turned all of the machines on.

Rebecca laid out the dental tools in all of the rooms, then grabbed a broom to sweep up some of the messes made from Friday. She swept all of the rooms, then the hallways before making her way towards the lobby where the reception desk was. "She makes me so mad." Rebecca stopped when she heard a group of women. She smiled to herself and swept quietly so that she could hear them gossip. "It's so unfair!"

She heard another woman speak up. "Maybe we should sleep with him and see if we get a promotion."
The group laughed while Rebecca kept listening in. "I don't get what he sees in her...she's so annoying. She's been here for two weeks and I'm already tired of her."

Rebecca then furrowed her eyebrows. This is about...me. She started sweeping again, trying to go unnoticed. "Yeah for real. Every time she gets around me I want to gag."

The girls—who Rebecca figured out were Rosie and Melody—sighed in unison. "Maybe she'll get hit by a car trying to chase a cat or something and we won't have to see her again." Melody laughed.

"Well I don't necessarily want her to get hit by a car...but her leaving would be the highlight of my year." Rosie said.

Rebecca grabbed a piece of her strand hair and moved it behind her ear. She wiped her face and batted her eyes to get rid of the tears, then swallowed her emotions. She smiled as she walked around the corner. "Hey Mel, hey Rosie! Did you two have a good weekend?"

Rebecca watched as they smiled and stood up. "Yeah it was amazing! I went to Tennessee to stay at a rental cabin. It was so much fun." Rosie said. "How was yours?"

Rebecca smiled and placed the broom in a corner against a wall. "It was good! I had a girls night with my best friends, then me and Colby hung out." She didn't dare tell them what else happened. If they didn't like me before, they definitely wouldn't like me now.

Melody smiled and laughed. "Well that sounds like fun!" She turned her head and looked towards her computer before looking back at her. "I'll see you around, I guess. I need to log in and get all of our information put up before people start coming in."

"Yeah me too." Rosie said looking at Rebecca with a smirk. "Have a good day Rebecca."

Rebecca smiled and walked away before going to try and find Colby. She didn't know why hearing them talk about her upset her so much. The hormones, more than likely. She didn't know what she had done to upset them, but them talking so bland about her made her heart hurt.

She walked to the back of the clinic where Colby's office was, and knocked on the door. She didn't realize what she was doing, and right before he opened the door, she hesitated telling him about what had happened. "Hey." Rebecca said smiling up at him. "I've got everything cleaned up and ready to go." He nodded and Rebecca pressed her lips together. "I just wanted to let you know that way you can get ready for when I call you to a room for a patient."

Colby nodded and smiled. "Alright. Thanks for letting me know." He then kissed her forehead and shut the door.

Rebecca sighed and walked back to her locker room. She grabbed her ear piece and mask and started walking towards the lobby. She knew that conversation would itch at her brain all day, but she wasn't going to let that stop her from doing her job.
