Colby played their favorite playlist on the way there, hoping to settle their nerves. It worked for the most part, especially when Rebecca started singing, lighting up the whole car. Colby smiled and joined in, and in that moment, everything around them disappeared.

It didn't last long though, especially when Colby pulled into the familiar driveway. He parked the car and immediately turned towards Rebecca, grabbing her hand. "Are you okay?"

Rebecca squeezed his hand and looked at him. "I'm okay...just worried."

They gave each other a sympathetic smile. Colby then pulled her hand up, and pressed his lips to the back of her palm. "We don't have to do this you know? I can come up with a lie and get us both out of here."

Rebecca smiled a little. "I know. But it's your parents, no matter how they deal with it, they need to know."

Colby nodded and reached across the console to kiss her. "I love you."

Rebecca smiled and kissed him again. "And I love you."

Colby smiled and pulled back turning the car off. "Come on soulmate, let's go inside."

Rebecca started to jump out of the car, but then grabbed Colby's arm, pulling him back in. "Wait, how are we gonna tell them? Last time we were here, you told them all lies and they didn't suspect a thing. I don't think you can lie your way through with this one..."

Colby put on his confident smile. "I didn't tell that many lies, come on now."

Rebecca laughed. "Yes you did! I lost count on how many lies you told."

Colby shook his head and grinned. "Maybe I did. Maybe I didn't." He then drummed his fingers on the steering wheel. "For real though, you're right. I really don't know how to start that conversation."

Rebecca sighed. "Do you want me to announce it?"

Colby immediately shook his head. "No, I don't want them harassing you." He then laid his head back on the seat. "We'll talk about other things first, then I'll break the news to them."

Rebecca nodded. "Okay..."

He then sighed and opened up his door. Rebecca opened hers, but before she could get out, Colby was by her side holding out a hand. "Let's get this over with."

Once Holly was done cooking, Rebecca helped lay everything out on the table while Colby and his father sat in the living room watching football, and then they all surrounded the table to eat.

It was quiet for the most part, until Colby's dad spoke up. "How's work going Colby?"

Colby finished cutting his steak and took a bite before answering. "It's better than ever."

Holly smiled. "Well that's good to hear. Are you still living at that apartment?"

Colby nodded and took a sip of his wine. "Yep." He then glanced at Rebecca—who was drinking her water. She glanced at him and swallowed hard. Colby then looked back at his mother and smiled. "What's been up with you two? We've not talked since the last time we visited."

His parents smiled at each other. "Oh we've been wonderful!" Holly said. "Just doing our everyday things. Football, Hallmark movies, and me cooking and cleaning."

Colby smiled. "I'm glad to hear that."

Holly nodded then glanced between Colby and Rebecca. "How are you doing, Rebecca?"

She smiled and glanced between his parents. "I've been great! Just working hard and all that..."

Colby cleared his throat and took the last sip of his wine. Holly noticed and stood up. "I'll get you some more." She then glanced at Rebecca. "Do you want a glass, dear?"

Rebecca smiled. "No thanks, Holly."

His dad then laughed. "I ain't never seen a woman not want wine."

Holly laughed too and went to the kitchen. "Every woman is different, I guess."

Colby glanced at Rebecca and reached over to place a reassuring hand on her thigh. Holly walked back over to the table and placed the glass in front of Colby before sitting back down. Colby hesitated for a moment. He cleared his throat. "Uhm...there's something that we've been needing to tell you guys."

Rebecca just watched Colby as he spoke, afraid if she moved she would break. "We recently found out some big news..."

His parents shared a confused look. "Okay! What is it honey?" Holly said with a chuckle.

Colby looked at Rebecca and squeezed her thigh again. "Rebecca's—"

"I'm pregnant." Rebecca said cutting him off. Colby closed his eyes and pressed his lips together, hoping she wouldn't get the fallout of all this. "We're having a baby..."

His parents stopped eating and just stared at them. It was silent for a few moments before anyone spoke up again. "Is this a joke?" His dad asked.

Colby shook his head and opened his eyes. "No. She's pregnant." He then pressed his lips together again. "We found out almost two weeks ago."

His parents shared a glance before turning their heads toward them both again. Holly cleared her throat, "Rebecca can we have the room, please?"

Rebecca nodded and looked towards Colby, "Uhm...yeah." She then stood up. "I'll be in the bathroom..."

Holly watched Rebecca leave the room before looking back at Colby. "Listen I don't want you to blame her for this—"

Holly stopped him. She shook her head before resting her forehead in her hands. "What are your intentions, Colby?" His dad said with a stare.

Colby's heart raced as he made eye contact with him. "Well, she don't want to get rid of it, so she's keeping it...if that's what you were meaning..."

His dad looked towards his mom, who was shaking her head. "She's keeping it?" Holly then scoffed. "Hold on...are you planning to do what I think you're going to do?
