Rebecca ate the slice of pie in five bites. Colby's parents seemed a little confused by their hasty exit. He told Holly they had tickets to a firework show and they needed to go before they missed the grand finale.

They do very little speaking on the way home. Colby says he likes to drive with the windows down at night. He turns the music up and grabs her hand, holding it all the way back to the girls' place.

When they reach the apartment, she opens the door and makes it halfway across the living room before she realizes he hasn't followed her inside. She turns around and he's leaning against the frame of the door like he has no intention of coming in.

There's a look of concern in his eyes, so she walks back to the door. "Are you okay?"

Colby pushes off the doorway and presses a hand to his forehead. "Do you not want to... continue this...?"

Colby walks across the hallway and wraps his arms around her. "No. God, no." He says shaking his head.
"It's just ... God, I feel like I can't even find words right now." His head falls back like he can't figure out how to process his confusion. He releases her and steps out into the hallway. He starts pacing back and forth while he gathers his thoughts. He looks just as torn as he did the first time she saw him. He was pacing then, too, outside of Luke's door.

Colby takes a step towards her, gripping the doorframe. "We've spent two days together, Rebecca. Two. It's been perfect and fun and you are so beautiful. I want to pick you up and carry you to your bed and stay inside you all night and tomorrow and the next day and it's . .." He runs a hand through his unruly hair and then grips the back of his neck. "It's making my head swim and I feel like if I don't back off now, I'm gonna be real disappointed when I find out you don't feel the same way."

Rebecca takes at least ten seconds to catch up to everything he just said. Her mouth opens and before she can tell him he's right, that it's too soon and too fast, she says, "I know what you mean. It's terrifying."

He steps closer. "It is." He shakes his head again. "Have you ever felt like this before? This fast?"

Rebecca shakes her head. "Never. Not even close."

"Me neither." He slips his hand against her neck and slides his fingers through her hair. His other hand presses against her lower back as he pulls her to him. He asks the question in a whisper against her lips. "Do you want me to leave?"

She answers him with a kiss. Everything that happens next isn't questioned by either of them. There's no second-guessing as he kicks the front door shut.
No worrying if this is too fast when they tear away each other's clothes. Neither of them hesitates on the way to her bedroom. And for the next hour, the only question he asks her is; "Do you want to be on top now?"

He only needs her answer once, but she says yes at least five times before they're finished. Now he's lying on his back and shes wrapped around him like there's not two feet of mattress on either side of them. Her legs are intertwined with his and her hand is tracing circles over his chest. They've been mostly quiet since they finished, but not because they don't have anything to say. She thinks they're just reflecting on what life was like two days ago compared to what it's like now. It's a lot to take in.

Colby trails his fingers up and down her arm. His lips meet the top of her head in a quick kiss. "Did Luke ever try to get you back?"

"Yeah. He had texted Ashley for a while trying to get my number, but she blocked him." After Rebecca dumped her phone over the bar, she never put his number back into her new phone.

Colby kisses the corner of her mouth, threading their hands together. "I actually thought you took him back and that's why you never tried to contact me on social media."

"There's no way I would have taken him back. Especially after he tried to blame the whole affair on Sarah. He painted her out to be some kind of temptress who seduced him." Rebecca says.

Colby shakes his head. "Sarah isn't a slut. She's a relatively good person who sometimes makes terrible and selfish decisions." He rolls her onto her back and begins to run a lazy finger over her stomach in circles.

"I'm sure they did it because they thought they wouldn't get caught." Colby says regretting ever bringing it up.

A knock on her door made them both sit up startled. "Becks? Pam and Mercedes are going to be working late tonight so it's just gonna be me and-" The door swung open and Ashley's mouth opened wide. "...you?"

"Oh my god, Ash! I thought you were all working late...". Rebecca said embarrassed.

Ashley then smiled. "Colby, right?"

Colby nodded and pressed his lips together. "Yeah. Yep that's me."

Ashley then winks at Rebecca. "Huh. I didn't expect you to be here. Sorry about that. I'll be in the living room..."

Rebecca watches as she shuts the door. She then rolls over and looks at Colby. "I am so sorry. I didn't know-"

He pressed his lips to her in a quick, but reassuring kiss. "It's ok, Becks. Plus, since we're soulmates, I need to meet your friends."

Rebecca smiled against his lips and kissed him again. "Oh yeah?"

Colby nods as he pulls her onto his lap without breaking the kiss. Rebecca rubs her hand through his hair before he speaks again, "And to make it easier, I'm pretty sure Ashley already approves."
