Chapter 41

When Colby's parents walked in, he opened his arms to embrace them, but they went straight over to hug on Rebecca, before placing their hands on her bump. He just stood there smiling, looking at his family interact.

Pamela, Ashley, and Mercedes on the other hand, came over to give Colby a hug. "Hey you three!"

Mercedes smiled as she stepped back to let Ashley hug him. "We're so excited!"

Pamela nodded as she gave him a high five. "We've not stopped talking about it! All three of us think it's a girl..."

Colby shook his head. "That's what everyone else thinks too." He then pointed towards his shirt. "I'm team boy."

Ashley chuckled. "I can't wait to see your face when you're wrong."

Pamela looked around. "Where's Becks? I want to feel the baby."

Colby pressed his lips together—because apparently everyone wanted to—and looked around to see if he could find her. "She was with my parents a few minutes ago. I have no clue where she is now..."

Mercedes then turned around to ask Renee where she was. "She's over there getting food."

They then all followed Renee's eyes towards the food table, where they saw her eating chocolate covered strawberries. "Food sounds like a good idea." Mercedes said standing up straight. "I'm going over there with Becks."

Pamela's face lit up and she followed Mercedes. "Wait up, I'm coming too!"

Ashley then rolled her eyes with a laugh. "Sorry to leave you here by yourself, but I'm going to go with them."

Colby nodded and watched as they walked away. He then walked over to where his parents stood. "Hey."

Holly turned around with a smile. "Hi honey!" She then reached her arms out to give him a hug. "How are you doing?"

Colby smiled. "I'm great." He then hugged his dad. "How about you two?"

"We're doing amazing. We're so excited about today!" She said with a huge grin.

"We are too." He said with a smile.

Once everyone started to settle down, Rebecca walked over to where Colby and her were going to be standing during the reveal. "I'm so glad I wore my adidas." She said standing beside of him. "My feet would be killing me if I hadn't."

Colby gave her a sympathetic smile, and wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him. "Are you feeling okay?"

Rebecca nodded and rested her head on his chest. "Yeah. I love everyone here, but they've talked my ear off. I'm glad to see them and all, but I've been trying to come over here and they stop me every time."

Colby shook his head. "They're just excited I guess." He then watched as Renee walked over to Jonathan with a big balloon in hand. "Besides, they'll be occupied in a few minutes."

Rebecca then followed his gaze. "Yay! We're about to find out the gender." She then rubbed a hand over her abdomen with a smile. She couldn't wait to find out the gender—especially since she was wanting to start planning the nursery. The baby's due date was less than three months away, and they needed to get a move on things.

They needed to first, find their house. Rebecca felt like they had been searching for years, but every time they found one they liked, it ended up being too far away, or was located in a terrible neighborhood. She was trying not to stress herself out, but they needed to find one. And fast.

Rebecca watched as Renee walked over to them, handing them the balloon. "Alright everyone! Are we team boy or team girl?"

Everyone divided into two sides—one side for boy, and the other for girl. Mostly everyone was on team girl, but Colby still held out for hope that he was right.

Colby smiled at Rebecca as they held the balloon. "You ready?"

Rebecca nodded and when Renee started the countdown, the duo waited their for their turn to pop it. "3....2....1"

The excitement rose in the air as everyone watched the blue confetti fall from the balloon. Rebecca smiled with a hand over her face while Colby threw his hands up on the air. "I knew it!"

He then pulled Rebecca in for a hug, wrapping his arms gently around her body. "Oh my god! You were right, Lopez!"

Colby laughed and kissed her cheek before pulling back. "I'm always right."

Rebecca laughed as he connected their lips, and the two stood there enjoying their moment. They were interrupted when Mercedes, Pamela, and Ashley ran over to hug Rebecca. "Ahhh congratulations!!!" They screamed.

Rebecca laughed and wrapped her arms around them.
Afterwards, others came up to do the same, making sure Colby and Rebecca both knew how excited everyone was.

After the reveal everyone stood around and talked to Colby and Rebecca, and by the time they were done, Colby was ready to take them home. They walked hand in hand to their car, talking about their baby.

"I can't believe it's a boy..." Rebecca said with a smile.

Colby still walked around with a smirk on his face. "I can!" He said swinging her hand back and forth. "I tried telling you—"

"Well i am the one carrying him, and I was positive it was a girl." Rebecca said looking up at him.

Colby smiled as he looked into her  eyes. "Are you happy?"

Rebecca nodded and smiled. "Of course I am. I know we were making bets, but I didn't care what it was. I just want a healthy baby." She then rested her other hand on her abdomen.

Colby smiled down at her. "I didn't care what it was either, I was just wanting to argue with you about it."

Rebecca shook her head with a smile, and Colby leaned over to kiss her cheek. "You looked beautiful today." He said as they reached the car. "That dress looks amazing on you."

Rebecca blushed as he opened her car door. "Be careful, Lopez. You might fall in love with me."

Colby laughed as he helped her in. "Well I hate to break it to you, but it's a little too late for that, Quin."
