Rebecca didn't want to leave Jeff sitting outside their apartment door—especially since she was home alone—but she also had a bad feeling she needed to go inside. She doesn't even know the guy, so who knows what all he is capable of? Especially when he's drunk. He could go off the walls any second now, and Rebecca wouldn't have anyone there to help her.

She took another look around and was starting to get uncomfortable. She fiddled with her fingers as she watched Jeff out of the corner of her eye. He just sat there, staring at her, with a droopy smile on his face. "So...do you know your room number?"

Jeff leaned his head back against the wall and chuckled. "I mean I do when I'm sober."

Rebecca rolled her eyes and walked to a few of their neighbors' doors to see if they were home. She didn't want to seem like a creep, but she also didn't want to disturb them. She peeked through a few open windows but didn't see anyone inside. "Why did you stumble at our door? You could have kept walking to someone else's apartment..."

Jeff scoffed and stumbled on a few words. "Have you ever drank before? I can't help where I end up..." He then smirked as he clutched his stomach. "I'm glad I ended up here though..."

Rebecca rolled her eyes and put a hand over her stomach. She was already nervous, and now she was feeling nauseous from not only the pregnancy, but from the weirdo man sitting next to her door. "Please don't finish that sentence."

Rebecca watched as he rolled his eyes and looked her up and down. She then decided it was stupid to stand outside, so she quickly opened her door and shut it again, making sure to lock it.

Not even a second after she locked it, Jeff started knocking on the door. "Don't leave me out here alone...someone might kidnap me."

Rebecca rolled her eyes and walked towards her phone, ignoring the constant pounding on the door. She hadn't been living in that apartment for a full day, and she was already about to go crazy.

She opened up her phone and called Colby. He answered on the third ring. "Hi sweetheart, sorry it's taking so long. I've got the key but I stopped to get you some coffee."

Rebecca immediately relaxed and smiled. "You're fine Colby, and you didn't have to do that."

She heard him click his tongue on the other end. "Well you've had a busy day. And I've not been there to help organize so that's the least I can do." He then sighed. "Is everything okay?"

Rebecca then turned around towards the banging on the door. "Let me in please! I just want to get to my apartment..."

Rebecca tensed up and sighed into the phone. "Rebecca what's going on? Who is that?"

Rebecca cleared her throat. "It's some guy named Jeff? He legit crashed into our door and I went to see what happened and he was slouched in the floor. He's very drunk."

Colby took a deep breath. "Oh my-" She then heard Colby curse under his breath. "Rebecca don't get near him. Just lock the door and leave him out in the hall. I'll be there in twenty minutes."

Rebecca nodded. "Okay. You don't have to rush, but he's creeping me out."

"Well he's an idiot so don't get around him." Colby then cursed again. "Stay in the living room with August okay? I'll be home in fifteen minutes."

Rebecca then sighed as she hung up the phone. She went and got August—who was still barking at the door—and carried him to the living room and sat down with him in her lap. "It's ok August..." She sat there for a few minutes, trying to block him out.

Rebecca rubbed her hand through August's fur. "Do you know when Colby is going to be here? I swear I just need help..."

Rebecca rolled her eyes and sat up to look towards the door. "If you don't shut up, and go back to your apartment I'm calling the cops!"

Rebecca heard him chuckle, but she then heard a commotion in the halls. She stood up after August quit barking and went closer to the door. "What are you doing man?!"

Rebecca tensed as she heard Jeff grunt in pain. "You're  sick Jeff! What were you going to do to her huh?"

Rebecca heard Jeff mumble something about her, then someone get punched, and she was hoping Colby was the one to throw it. "I wasn't going to do anything! I was just trying to get home dude."

Colby laughed and started dragging Jeff through the hall. "I don't believe you. You could have went to any of our neighbors, so why bother my girl?"

Rebecca opened up the door to make sure none of them got hurt, but didn't see them anymore. She turned her head though, and heard Jeff grunt from around the corner.

Colby propped Jeff up on his door. "Here, you're home." He then stood back up with his hands on his hips. "Drink some water Jeff. "

Jeff gave him a thumbs up as he watched him walk away. Colby then walked around the corner to see Rebecca in the doorway of their apartment. "Is everything okay?"

Colby nodded at her words and shook his head with a huff. "He's...drunk."

Rebecca nodded with a laugh. "Yes I know that." She then walked up to him to examine his face. "I'm guessing you're not the one who got punched?"

Colby sighed and leaned down to hug her. "He's...not a good person... and when you called me saying he's at the door I knew he was trying to do something, Becks."

Rebecca pulled back and kissed his cheek, motioning for him to come inside. "He told me he needed my help to get to his apartment..."

Colby followed her inside and shut the door. "Well, truth be told, I think that's all he wanted."

Rebecca shook her head and crossed her arms. "So do you have any other...weird—neighbors I need to know about?"

Colby shrugged and walked towards her, grabbing her hands. "Not that I know of. But if there is, I'm here to protect you."

Rebecca laughed as he kissed her hands. "You're crazy Lopez." She then smiled at him. "But it seems like this apartment complex is crazier."
