Shimada and Takinoue decided to go for a hike in the nearby forest, as it's something they often did, usually with Ukai and Takeda but for some reason they couldn't go, which in their opinion, was stupid.

And for some reason, they also decided, to go off trail, but they knew what they were doing. They put markings on the trees, and Shimada had a good memory anyway, so they doubted they'd get lost.

They are just acting how they usually acted really, just goofing off and acting like high school boys, throwing small rocks, leaves and sticks at each other, just to annoy themselves.

It was now around midday, so the two decided to take a quick break and sit down for five minutes and have something to eat.

"Did you hear that?" Shimada asked his friend, who shook his head, "No, what was it?"
"There it is, did you hear that?" Another shake of the head.

"I'm gonna follow it," Takinoue gave him an incredulous look, "that's how you get murdered," he says, also getting up to follow him, because at least if there's two people, then they're less likely going to die-well that was his reasoning anyway.

So grabbing their backpacks, with a small pocket knife in hand (not that it'd do much), and followed the sound of the rattling chain, minds racing as thought after thought entered their brains as they questioned what it could probably be.

However, what they saw wasn't what they had expected, at all.
