Me and lilia walk into Derek's office. I stop, picking her up as I see him and some guy arguing. The guy sees me. I step to the side.

"Get out" Derek says. I go to leave. "Not you mer" he says. "Oh" I walk over to him. The guy walks past me, staring at me as he leaves. I just ignore it.

"You okay?" I kiss him softly, sitting lilia on the chair opposite his, the desk between them. "Fine" he sighs, sitting down.

I sit on his lap. He wraps his arms around me. "What was that about?" I ask. "That was my cousin.. he's trying to get me to give him my job" he says. "What?" I ask shocked.

"He has a son.. and I have a daughter so he said that it only makes sense that he should take over the mafia and then it'll get passed onto his son when he retires" he says. "That's crap" I say. He nods.

"And sexist! Lilia can take over your job" I say. "Its not exactly-" he begins before I glare at him. "I agree" he says. I smile.

"What?" Lilia asks. "Nothing sweetheart.. play with your doll" I chuckle softly.

"What are you doing with lilia here anyway? You're supposed to be working" he asks. "The babysitter cancelled.. I had to pick her up" I say.

"Do you want anything to drink or eat? I'm going to go and pick up some lunch from the cafe down the road" I get up. "No thankyou" he says. "Okay, lils?" I look at her.

"I want coka cola and a samich pwease" she says. "Coke and a sandwich.. okay" I grab my purse. "See you in a bit" I kiss him. He smiles. "Be good for daddy whilst I'm gone" I kiss lilias head. I leave.

Derek's pov:
"So, what have you been up to today?" I ask. "Nothin' much" she shrugs. I smile.

I look up quickly as I hear a scream. "Boss!" Someone yells. "Daddy-" lilia says. "Wait here lilia, I mean it.. do not move" I say firmly. She nods. I walk out.

I stop in my tracks as I see my cousin running away and meredith on the floor, holding her wound.

I run over to her. My guys clear everyone out of the room quickly and a few go after Michael, my cousin.

"Meredith" I sit on the floor, pulling her head onto my lap. She's barely conscious. "Its okay, I've got you" I take off my tie quickly and hold it to her wound to stop the blood from spilling out of her stomach.

"Derek" she gasps quietly. "Shh, don't try to talk" I rest my head against hers. She closes her eyes, small sobs escaping her lips.

"Wh-where-" she stops. "Lilias okay, she's in my office" I say. She grabs onto my arm. I hold her hand.

"Kiss me" she whispers. My eyes fill with tears. "No" I whisper, wiping my tears. I don't want her to see me cry. "Please" she sobs. I gently push my lips onto hers.

I pull away slowly. "I-I love you.. I love you so much" she puts her hand on my cheek.

She closes her eyes. "No, meredith!" I stroke her hair back. "Mommy?" Lilia walks over. "Lilia go back to my office" i say. "Mommy.. mommy!" She starts crying. I hug meredith gently, kissing her head. I hear the ambulance sirens outside..
