chapter 168

Derek's pov:
I'm in a meeting at work and all I can hear is my daughter screaming and crying in merediths office, next to us. Everyone knows how much its stressing me out I think.

"Shepherd, go and check on your daughter" mark sighs. "No, I can-" I say. "Please, you know she won't shut up until you do" he says. I leave the room.

I go into merediths office. Lilias sat on the floor in the middle of the room and meredith is at her desk.

"Oh baby" I pick her up. "Daddy" she sobs, hugging my neck tight. "What's wrong?" I look at meredith. She just rolls her eyes as lilia tells me about how much she missed me.

"I'm sorry, derek.. i really tried to get her to stop" meredith says. "Its okay" I chuckle softly, kissing lilias cheek softly.

"You have to be such a good girl if I take you into this meeting with me, okay?" I look into her eyes. She nods.

I take her in with me. All of the guys fuss over her for about thirty seconds, then we get back to work. I sit with her at the head of the table. She just sits on my lap, watching me intently.

"I love you daddy" she says right as I'm mid sentence, talking to everyone. All of the guys chuckle, smiling at her. "I love you too darling" I smile.

She turns around on my lap and cuddles her face into my stomach. I smile. I stand up, holding her in my arms to finish my presentation by the board.

By the end of the meeting, she's asleep in my arms. I think she was just tired before and wanted her daddy.

"Thanks for coming everyone, take some biscuits and coffee on the way out" I smile, leaving the room. I take lilia back to mers office.

I lay her on the couch before going over to meredith. She's holding Melissa in her arms.

"How was your meeting?" She stands up. I sit in her chair and she sits on my lap, after putting the baby in her cot. She cuddles into me.

"It was great, everyone loves lils" I say. She smiles. "Daddy" lilia mumbles. "I'm here babe" I say. She opens her eyes. She smiles, looking at meredith.

"Mommy, i didnt know you here" she sits up. "Come here darling" she smiles. She runs over and hugs merediths leg. Mer picks her up.

"Are you being nice to mommy now?" She smiles. "I'm sowwy" lilia says. "Its okay" meredith kisses her.

"I love you mommy" she says. "I love you too baby" she says. "I love you... and I love you" I tickle both of them. They both giggle.

"Daddy stop" lilia says as I kiss meredith softly. I kiss her again. "Daddy!" She yells. I deepen our kiss, making meredith giggle against my lips.

"Mommy pwease" she tugs on merediths hand gently. She pulls away. I grin at lily. She gets so jealous when all of our attention is on eachother and not her. It's funny.

"Listen baby" I say. She looks at me. "Me and mommy are having a date night tomorrow" I say. "With lily?" She asks. I shake my head. She shakes her head too.

"I'm gonna take mommy to a really fancy restaurant and treat her to whatever she wants, so she's easier to get into bed at the end of the night-" I say. Meredith slaps me playfully. I grin.

"Do you want to stay with grandma tomorrow or uncle mark?" I ask. "Uncle mark" she says. "Okay" I smile.

"Why can't I come?" She pouts. "Because it's supposed to be a romantic evening, not an evening of crying babies" I poke her little belly. She sighs loudly. Meredith chuckles.

"Well, our daddy daughter date is next week, and your girls night with mommy is in three days" I say. "Oh yeah!" She smiles. "Oh yeah!" Meredith teases, cuddling her tighter. She giggles. I smile.

Meredith puts her down. "You want me to play with you?" She asks. "No mommy, you steal my toys all the time" she says. "Can I play?" I ask. She shakes her head. We both chuckle.

"Fine, I'll keep mommy all to myself then" I kiss meredith. "No! Mommy you can play" she says. Meredith keeps kissing me. "Mommy!" We can tell she's about to cry, so we pull away. Meredith giggles, sitting on the floor next to her.

Lilia climbs onto her lap and hugs her whilst glaring at me. "She's my mommy" she says tearfully.

"She's mine!" I sit next to them and hug meredith. "Mommy pwease tell daddy" she whines. "I'm lilias mommy, you can't have me" meredith smiles, rubbing her nose against mine. "Is that right?" I kiss her very softly. "Yes" she giggles.

She pulls away slowly and smiles at me. "I love you" she kisses my cheek. I smile hugely. "I love you too, darling" I rub her back.

"You do?" She asks. "Why wouldn't I?" I ask. "Because I got off my period today and you've still not got me snacks" she says. "I got you snacks on the first day" I say. "Then forgot about me" she pouts. "I'll get you snacks later" I say. She smiles.

"I need to get back to my own office" I say. They both sigh. I kiss them both before standing up.

"You okay with both of them?" I kiss the baby's head. "Yeah babe, I'm good" she smiles. "Bye" I wave at them both. Lily waves back. I go.
