The Reunion

The night is filled with elegance. Tables where clothed on white sheets, center with diamond crystal decor and some little bit of flowers.

As the clock reach 7'oclock, Guests started to arrived on the carpet, wearing their fancy dresses and suits, the guest waited in full of etiquette and delightfulness on their face.

"Do I look okay?" Beomgyu who was still in the dressing room for about half an hour asked his boyfriend from the nth time.

Taehyun move closer to fixed the tie of his lover and softly place a kiss on its cheek. "You're more beautiful than night"

Beomgyu blushed and lean into a hug, placing his head on the younger's pounding chest. "I hope this would end good hyunie"

"It will"

Soon, the party officially started as the members of the family arrived. Beomgyu felt so heavy as many pair of eyes land on him and to Taehyun that's on his side.

There's no clear vision of hatred or disgust from their faces, but it's very disturbing for the both of them

Beomgyu took a deep breath as he go one step closer to the family's ancestral table where all of his grandma's and relative waits.

"He had arrived mother" Beomgyu's father said, and the two young males bow respectfully before they proceeding to find their seat.

Beomgyu sat on his respective chair and Taehyun sat a bit far away from him as he was not literally a member of the family. It might cause chaos to force himself and cross the family's norms

However, Taehyun assured that he had his eyes and ears focus on the older just incase.

The air got even more thick as a familiar lady come across to seat in. Mi yoon arrived to complete the table.

"As a tradition, we will start with our meals " One of the elder spoke and clap his hands, signaling the maids to serve their plates.

Lots of dishes had been offered, starting with a canapé, an appetizer. The members of the family and guess begun to eat silently, devouring every taste of the served food.

Until the elders begun the expected conversation. "It's been a while since I see this table complete"

"That's right, I can't believe that Mi Yoon and Beomgyu is with us"

Then, there's another silence.

"Yuju, when did Beomgyu get here?" Beomgyu looked at his mom to signal before he bravely answer instead. "We arrived yesterday grandma"

The grandma just nod and proceed to talk about other things until Mi Yoon was mentioned that makes everyone stopped eating.

"Mi Yoon my dear, is it true that you're going abroad now for good?"

Mi Yoon place a teasing smile at Beomgyu before answering the question given, "Yes grandma, I'll eventually start-"

Then a toss of glass on the ground was heard from the room, an old man protest and look at Mi Yoon in  disappointment. "you're a heir Mi yoon! what is this non-sense!?"

"Let your daughter speak, Minjun!"

A rolled of an eye came out from Mi yoon and continues to speak to the grandmother's about her plan to move out of the country.

"If that's what you wanted my dear, we will not interfere your choices"  the elder said.

"And what about our business??" Mi Yoon's father protest.

One of the elder stood up and produce a small laugh making the father got taken a back from his seat. "Your daughter's inherit was voided the moment you lied to us 5 years ago. You are lucky that we care deeply on Mi Yoon or else both of you had vanish from this family"

"Oh I should have protest, I realized that your real plan was to give Beomgyu and Yuju all of the family inheritance...i see" The father continues to rebut.

"Excuse me?" Beomgyu's mother almost went to slap Mi Yoon's father but luckily she was calmed down by his husband.

"Favoritism" Mi Yoon took a sip on her wins and speaks a word that was able for Beomgyu only to be heard.

Beomgyu's hand curl into a fist. As long as he wanted to fight, he could not help but just stare sharply on her cousin to prevent futher chaos.

"As for Beomgyu, We are disappointed of you. " The elder went back to her seat and spoke seriously with beomgyu.

"I lied too, and I'm sorry" Beomgyu bow in front of the family and guest which made the elder's smile on his act.

"We are not angry because of your gender Beomgyu, we are because you tolerate your cousin which leads to what you both are right now.

I know you loved Mi Yoon very dearly that's why you let her use your work. And I know that Mi Yoon do too and was under pressure to resist. At the young age we already placed you with a responsibility to take over our business. We forget that you we're just kids, who deserves enjoyment. Both of you struggle because of what we, elders , want you to be, and we are sorry for that too.

I hope that what's happening between you two could be fixed, maybe not now but when it's time. You'll treat eachother like a family again"

With that Beomgyu felt so ease as he heard those words came out from his grandparents. All the suffering and regrets flew away from his head, a tear or two left his eyes and just stare down on his plate, not wanting for the family to witness. But Taehyun noticed Beomgyu's tears, as well as Mi Yoon.

"now, shall we continue our dinner" And the night continues, one with a heavy heart and one at ease. Nonetheless, everything was a good progress.
