Chapter 59: Dealing with Mayor Lockwood

WYNTER'S POV:

Here I was enjoying such a lovely sleep before starting school tomorrow, when Paul came in waking me up hurriedly.
I sat up blinking confused.
"Paul what is wrong?"
"Tyler just showed up. His dad and he got in a huge fight. He had to get out before his healing kicked in."
I nodded and got out of bed getting dressed quickly. I walked downstairs where Niklaus was with Tyler. Tyler sat on the couch with his head in his hands. I went to him immediately and took his face in mine lifting it so I could see him.
"Will you let me look at your memory?", I asked him.
He flushed a bit sorrow and embarrassment feeling him but he nodded.
I looked into his memories seeing that the fight was caused by him wanting to take a art class at school instead of something more manly as his father put it. I left his memory after I saw his father hit him and then looked to Nik.
"Tyler and I are going to have a word with his father my love. We will be back shortly." I then took Tyler's hand and drove back to his house with him. As we drove i said, "I am going to compel him letting him know he is forbidden to touch you again. He will then sign your care over to me. He is going to tell your mother that you are doing a live in internship with Nik. I will then compel him to go to the sheriff and confess his crimes against you. We will then go to your room and summon Kreacher who will get your things, before going home." Yes she can compel other supernaturals, she just doesn't like taking their free will. But she does not tolerate abuse. She did the same to Paul's dad.
He shook his head, "He may be a shit dad but he is a good mayor. Don't make him go to the sheriff. I don't want the embarrassment of people knowing. I will be happy knowing I am free of him."
I sighed and nodded, "Fine."
We got to the house and I did exactly as I said. I walked straight up to him and grabbed his lapels yanking his face close to my and snarled at him, "How dare you lay hands on a child, let alone your own child!" My anger showed enough that fear was very evident in his eyes. I locked eyes with him and began compelling, "You will NEVER lay a hand on Tyler again. You will only speak to him in encouragement, and with respect. You will sign him over to my custody. You will tell Carol that he is doing a live in internship with Niklaus. You will treat your wife like a queen. If i find out you ever harmed her I will be back to rip your throat out with my fucking teeth. You will not tell anyone about my threat either." I released him and he stumbled back nodding.
"Yes of course right away." He scrambled to do as I commanded. Returning soon to tell me the paperwork would be at my home in the morning. He then wished Tyler good luck with his internship. Tyler and I went to his room and summoned Kreacher who quickly gathered Tyler's things with a snap of his fingers.
On our way out i stopped and compelled Richard one more time, "You will place me on the founders council. You will say I come from a long line of hunters and that you have seen proof of the area being settled by the Black family before the others."
He agreed and I smirked will there is one way to deal with the idiots in this town. Tyler and I left and we went home. I showed him the art room where Jeremy and Nik were and said go crazy. He grinned and hugged me and went inside. Nik sent me a wink and I went to find Paul. I knew this would hit him hard. The way his own father was. I found him and simply cuddled with him the rest of the morning. Nik made sure to encourage Tyler in his art even told him, how he had a thousand years experience with fathers like his and if he wanted in the end there was always the option of me killing his dad like I had Nik's killed.
