Chapter 65: May I have this dance?

WYNTER'S POV:

Once things settled down at the house we got things ready for the night of the comet. That day I went to Zach Salvatore and told him about his daughter so he could go find her. I had him pass the founder's council position to Damon first. I also made sure that the Founder's council included a Bennett, Sheila didn't want to deal with the idiots so it went to Bonnie with a little persuasion. I also had them refuse John the seat, it went to Jeremy instead.
Then we all attended the comet viewing before having something to eat at the grill. Elena tried again to get all the guys attention. It just wasn't working for her. Matt was the only one who paid her any mind anymore. That night I also destroyed the magic on the Gilbert rings. Don't need those hurting any of mine's minds. Beside they can't stay dead unless I order death to take them.
Over the next week we dealt with school and training. I made sure no one would rely on just one thing, everyone had to know magic, shifting, hand to hand, and weapons. When I say weapons I mean swords, knives, archery, guns, staffs, and anything else they could think of.
During that time we all received our Founder's Ball invites. Niklaus, Elijah and Leah were all staying home. It was getting close to Katherine coming and we didn't want to spook her. So Paul and Damon were my dates. Care accepted Tyler as a second date because he couldn't be bothered with the girls around here. Same for Jeremy he would be joining Bonnie and Enzo. We girls went and got ready.
