Chapter 94: A lost child and the Farm.

SUMMER/FALL YEAR 1
GEORGIA HIGHWAY
WYNTER'S POV:

We began the drive towards the Prison. We had our caravan going. At some point we abandoned Shane's truck and he rode with Lori and Rick. Soon though I guess Rick got tired of them both and he joined Carl with us. From time to time Paul and Daryl rode ahead of us on the bikes. Finally we were stopped on a traffic snarl on the highway when Dale's RV broke down. Paul and Derek were helping Glenn and Dale work on fixing it while most of the others scavenged from the abandoned cars. The water jugs were being put in Carol's jeep.
Suddenly there was the call out to hide. The herd was coming. I crawled under a vehicle near the children. Jeremy was with me. We all fought to keep quiet and still.
When it seemed that they had passed, Sofia moved. Doing got two walkers trying to get her in her panic she ran off. I got loose from Nik and ran after her. I heard Rick following as well. Nik knew to keep everyone else there so as not to be in my way or get lost.
I caught up to her quickly killing the one. As Rick caught up to us two more showed. We three ran. We came to a small stream and he shoved both Sophia and I in a small crevice. I tried to get him to stay as well but the stubborn fool chose to lead them away. He kissed my forehead before running off.
We waited and then began to make our way to the highway, but our way was blocked by a small group. I picked Sophia up and began to run another way, I wouldn't risk her. We soon made it to a small cabin. Going inside some man made mad through all that has happened attacked. I shoved Sophia out of the way and growled as he stabbed me in my side then pulled it out stabbing my right thigh. Knowing I had no choice, I let my claws out, with Sophia close and me wounded I would not risk my magic getting out of control. I sliced my hand across his throat grabbed the dagger from his hand and stabbed him in the head. I quickly shoved him out of the cabin locking the door. I fell to my knees, my mates screaming in my head having felt my pain.
Sophia trying to help ran to me. I sighed as she helped me to a seat. The side wound was healing already and almost done. The wound on my leg was deep and long and even with my advanced healing it would be a night of healing. I had Sophia find me something to bind it with. Then pulled out some food for her. I didn't want to wait but knew that we had to. So that they could reach the farm.
I told her not to leave the cabin, to wake me if she heard someone.
I reached out to my mates letting them know we were safe. That we would make our way back at first light as I finished healing. I told them to let them search. They argued about my wound I told them one was healed the other would be by morning. They wanted me to call Kreacher. I told them to watch the others, and know that we are safe and I am healing and they hold my love. With that I lay down to sleep. Sophia curled up to me.

The next day we woke. I knew through my mates they went into the woods to look for us. Sophia and I got up and left it was rather slow going, between her and my left just finished in healing. After an hour or so I felt good enough to shift. I had just shifted when they told me Carl had been shot. I told them to all go to the farm we would meet them there.
I then looked to Sophia and laid down and nodded to my back. She grinned and giggled with glee. Climbing on, once seated, I stood as she gripped my fur and took off running.
Soon enough we reached the farm. When we approached the farm everyone but Carl, Lori, and Shane were on the porch. Hershel and his people were shocked to see a little girl riding a giant snow leopard. I walked up to the porch Carol cried with joy running to us. I laid down and she pulled Sophia into her arms thanking me through her tears and kisses to Sophia.
My mates all circled around me. Nick simply stated, "Shift love let us see your wounds are fully healed."
I sighed mentally about over protective mates and shifted back. They saw the holes and Derek examined them closely nodding to the others who all sighed. "We already explained to Hershel and his family Love." I nodded thankful.
Looking to the porch I spotted Rick. "Take me to Carl. I can heal him." I said.
"Your group's man Shane and one of ours has gone to get the equipment needed." Said Hershel.
I smiled softly nodding, "I need no equipment." I looked to Rick. He led me to Carl. Lori started throwing a fit.
"Woman shut up! I am hear to heal your son. Now leave the room and let me work."
She looked to Rick, "You're going to just stand there and let her speak to me like this? I don't want her near Carl!"
Rick shook his head, "Lori enough! She is going to heal Carl. If you don't like it leave the room."
She stormed out of the room leaving me, Nik, Rick and Hershel. Rick nodded to me and I stepped forward. I pulled the sheet away and took the bandage off. Then placed my hand on his forehead and leaned in whispering a spell to put him into a deep sleep. I pulled out a pain potion from the bag Nik held and helped Carl's sleeping form drink it. Then placed my hands above his wound and sent my magic searching for every piece if the bullet. Slowly they came out floating to the dish Hershel held. Once I was sure all of it was out I pulled my hands back. I looked to Nik he handed me a dagger from his side. I took it turned my wrist and cut. Allowing some of my blood to flow and fall into the wound then moved it to his mouth allowing some to fall in fir him to drink.
Standing back Rick and Hershel were amazed to see the wound begin to close on its own, the flesh knitting itself back together.
I looked to Rick. "He will be healed by morning fully. He will still need to rest for at least a week though to insure he does not get harmed and his wound does not reopen." I looked to Hershel, "Thank you for allowing us to stay for the moment. I know it is a burden to you, but I have excess supplies so we shall not take from you and are willing to share. When we move on you and yours are welcome to come with us. We have a secure place with plenty of room. You are welcome and would be needed."
I then looked to Nik, he knew the last two days had been a lot so he lifted me bridal style and took me to our RV to rest for the night.

The next morning I woke to the news Ottis had still died thanks to Shane. When the time came I was going to have Death rip his soul from him painfully after I tore him apart. The man is foul.
I left the RV and was greeted by a blur with dirty blonde hair running into me tackling almost with a hug. I chuckled looking down seeing Sophia. I hugged her back and lifted her with ease. Carol came over then.
"I'm so sorry. She has been waiting all morning for you. When she saw Nik carrying you she was worried. The others tried to reassure her but she hasn't calmed down."
I smiled, "Next time just have her brought to me. I don't mind being woken if it helps her to be at peace." She nodded and I looked to Sophia. "I'm alright little dove fully healed. I was just really tired after healing Carl is all."
She grinned then hugged me still, but frowned. "Your not leaving us right?"
I frowned at her words looking to Carol who shrugged shaking her head not knowing.
"Why would you think that?"
"Lori and Shane said you would be gone soon and then things would be the way they should."
"I'm not going anywhere yet. We will as a group be going to my compound. But as far as I know you and your mother will be with us. " I looked to Carol.
"Yes I haven't heard anyone say they weren't joining you, and we definitely will be."
"See we are not going to be parted soon. In fact why don't you and your mother just stay in RV 3 from now on. There are plenty of bunks and there is no reason to be in a tent."
They both nodded. I hugged Sophia once more before setting her down. Time to pay my respects and check on Carl.
