Chapter 134: Preparing for War

KINGS LANDING/ Essos
WYNTER'S POV:

As we began preparations, many things took place.

Tywin declared war as we expected. He did still have allies. Theon Greyjoy rejoined his father and they joined Tywin. Roose Bolton left the North also joining Tywin. The most surprising was Renely, Robert's brother. Tywin began his work to ready himself.

In the meantime I received word from Dani. She and Drago had taken the cities, they freed the Unsullied who joined her freely. She also earned a true sister in Missandei. Jordan, Nik and I shadow traveled to her side. Startling all in her throne room except her riders and Khal. I smirked as she told them to stand down then ran to embrace me. Nik asked for our grandson. As we caught up she introduced me to Missandei and Greyworm.

Because of who the two were and their worth, I marked and blessed them both. Both being dragons. Both being truest mates. I healed Greyworm fully. Him alone getting the honor. I had offered it to Varys but he didn't want it.
I told Dani of Jon being her nephew and my mate to be. She was ecstatic to know she was not the only Targaryen left. I told her to make preparations that it would be time soon to join me in Westeros. She nodded agreeing saying they were already acquiring ships.

When we left Essos we shadow traveled North to Ned. He told us Bran had reached his destination and was training. He then told me the North was preparing for war and winter. I told him not to worry about Tywin, only the night king.

We went back to kings landing and spent time there for a week.
Then went North again. This time to the Nights watch.
The Lord Commander Mormont welcomed us gratefully. He showed us the improvement s that had been made in the past months. He showed me the designs for the new wildling holdings around the keeps being rebuilt. I nodded and told him able men were on their way to join. We had made it so they could marry now and not forsake their families. They would honor their oaths. Families would stay in surrounding towns.

We finally returned. My mates and guards were training the soldiers of kings landing. Though for after the war with Tywin, we had a marriage to plan and celebrate. Jon had reached the age of 17. He did not want to wait longer.
We spent the following months securing Kings Lansing's walls and port. We aided our supporters when Tywin and his allies attacked them. I made sure that we had the horses and supplies for the battle to come.
I also worked to prepare a place for the armies when we went north. I had the Isle stockpiling supplies for it.
Oleana and I did allow Robert a tournament to raise the peoples spirits. To show Tywin we were not scared of him and his war.
The winners were awarded 200 gold dragons each and the horse of their choice. My mates and guards only participated for the portion that was not actually ranked. The three winners were The Hound, Gendry, and Sir Lorrell.

The next month Greyjoy suffered a loss his daughter, Yara, left him. She after seeing the loss of favor from her father in favor of her returned brother defected and came swearing loyalty to me. She was marked and blessed. A siren and mermaid.

Next I had the armors of Kings Landing and the Isle making armor for all the men.

All the soldiers would wear armor that would protect them as best as possible.

My mates and guard chose a lighter armor.
Octavia chose a different armor.

As for me. I had mine made as well.

Things were prepared. Swords armor and supplies. We even had dragon fire prepared for the Greyjoy ships. And of course Smaug was happy to get to fight. Now to wait for Tywin to come to us.

In the meantime I went beyond the wall on a quick trip with my mates and Jordan. I met with the king beyond the wall. I secured an alliance. I made it known that they, in return for protecting the wall with the nights watch and aiding in the coming war against the night king, were to receive castles and lands along the wall. That he the king would be co-comander with lord Mormot. He agreed to it all and set to preparing his people. I in turn took Ygritte and Tormund with me. They joined my service. They were both fully marked and blessed. Both were foxes.
