Tengen watches from the ground helplessly as Gyutaro wraps his hand around Hinatsuru's mouth. Despair washes over him as Daki's belt continues to whip around him, throwing attack after attack preventing him from doing up there to help her.
He knew Hinatsuru was strong but when faced against an upper moon all on her own it was useless to think she could get out of that alive. Tengen grits his teeth slashing at the pink waistband trying to push forward to get closer.
Even a few inches would be enough of a gain to at least to do something but Daki guarded her brothers back well and Tengen was unable to gain any headway.
The belts seem to come faster now and form an orb around him slowly closing in and obscuring his view. "Hinatsuru!" He screams, his swings getting more frantic.
Tanjiro who lies on the ground tries to get up, his boy beaten badly and violently protesting against his attempted actions. Gritting his own teeth he swallows the pain and stumbles to his feet clutching the sword at his side tightly as he tries to make his way up there.
Through blurry eyes he sees Gyutaro lean closer to Hinatsuru and he shudders. 'I can't do this. I can't do it. Sakiya, where are you? Another person is about to be killed right before my eyes and I can't do anything'
Tengen panics as Hinatsuru is taken out of his sight and he stands there breathing heavily. 'What can I do? Me, a Hashira, stuck here unable to do anything. What is there that I can do against these two?'
'Do you really perceive me to be so weak I cannot hold my own against an upper moon?' Sakiya's voice comes back to the forefront of his mind, his eyes widening at the memory of the rooftop just the night before.
'Sakiya?'
'I have gone toe to toe with Akaza who is upper moon three. I have also fought against Kokushibo who is the strongest out of them all. I did not come here to get sent home. I will be helping you with or without your permission and whether you like it or not. If I have to I'll fight the upper moon six myself'
'That's right. I didn't come alone' Tengen says and looks up at the writhing orb around him. 'Tanjiro called her by just her name that day at the Hashira meeting. She came despite not being within ear shot. She sees spirit lines. Please Sakiya see mine now. I need your help. Hinatsuru needs your help. We need your help'
