Sakiya Aikawa was a girl with tragedy flowing through her veins and fury muted beneath her skin. She was living proof that a shattered heart could still beat. She had spent her entire life chasing one purpose after another. She was not born strong...

Silence drifts over the soul dimension enveloping Sakiya in its comforting absence. It still shocked the violet haired girl that she had been blind to the signs all along. Missed the bigger picture that was displayed before her very eyes since day one. Yorrichi had seen them though the old demon slayer didn't know what it had meant. Though there were stories that told of shinigami's and the Shizu river they were just that. Stories.
From what she could tell she was the only one of her kind. The first and probably the last shinigami to come into existence. There was no guide to what it truly meant to be one. No history of what they could do and what they couldn't do. This entire revelation to her existence just left her with more questions and nowhere to find the answers from.
She knew she had abilities. Just as the demons had the ability to manipulate their blood to fight, she had long ago come to realize that her abilities were more akin to theirs than that of the demon slayers. If she wanted to use the sun breathing ability she could create true fire. If she used her shiden tempest she could create lightning. Her speed and strength was on par with even the strongest demon. She healed fast. Her sight was enhanced in ways even demons were not.
Nothing she could do was on the same level as the demon slayers.
'The things she is able to do... Restoring a severed limb. Growing back destroyed eyes. The durability. The strength she has, it's not human. She isn't human'
'My child she is just as human as you and me'
'You're no demon slayer. You are just like me! There is no way a mere human holds the strength to fight me bare handed'
'You're wrong! I am human!'
Sakiya leans forward and brushes her fingertips against what she has named the pool of souls and watches waves ripple across its surface distorting the living souls she had been watching from her place kneeling on the bank.
"I never was human to start with, was I?" she murmurs, tilting her head as the waves calm and she sees pictures of a family displayed across its surface. Children race around a small home laughing and smiling. A gentle smile graces her lips at the happiness they display.
She cups her hand and scoops up some of the water watching as the image plays out in the small reflection. "I hold the entire world in the palm of my hand. What am I meant to do with it? What am I meant to be if not human?" she whispers to herself as she feels the silvery liquid fall between her fingers and back into the pool below.
Muddled whispers break the silence and her attention drifts over to the pool again. Multiple sets of people speak their voices intertwining with one another but she can make out some of the words.
'Shiden Tenshei'
'Savoir'
'Protector'
Her eyes widen at the words recognizing some of the faces as ones that belong to those she had saved from demons.
