"You misunderstand something, Sakiya," he said slowly, voice deep, deliberate. "I should have been here to begin with. I cannot allow you to fall prey to those that are beneath you. If you die to anything other than those that are worthy it would be an insult"

He reached out, not quite touching her, but his presence seemed to encase her like a shadow. His six eyes glinted in the fading light, the cold calculation of a demon mingling with something darker—something far more human.

"You promised me," he continued, voice lowering into something almost like a warning. "You would not leave me. That was our agreement. I do not care for your justifications. The next time you make a decision like this without me, there will be consequences."

Sakiya held his gaze, her heart beating faster, not from fear but from the weight of his words. She could feel his presence pressing against her, not just physically, but emotionally. There was a possessiveness there, an insistence that made her pulse quicken.

"Consequences?" she echoed softly, tilting her head as she studied him. "Koku, you speak as if you would punish me... when all you've done is protect me."

Her words were laced with gentle irony, and yet there was a seriousness behind them. She understood him. She always had. Kokushibo may be saying he would punish her but what he really meant was that there would be consequences that he would be unable to prevent. It was sweet and it revealed the complexity beneath his usual stoic facade.

Kokushibo's eyes flickered with something unreadable, a flash of frustration mixed with something else—something he wasn't ready to name and was only just starting to acknowledge. He turned away, gaze fixed on the horizon, his voice dropping to a low, gruff murmur.

"Do not test me, Sakiya," he warned, though there was a subtle softness, almost resignation, beneath the sternness. "My patience wears thin."

But Sakiya smiled, a soft, knowing smile that he couldn't see. She took a step closer to him, standing by his side now, just as she had said.

"You can stay angry if you want," she said quietly, "but I'll still be here. Right by your side."

Kokushibo turns his head, casting her a sideways glance before he subtly nods "You will," He concedes and turns his gaze away.
