Sakiya hums as she rhythmically pushes a sewing needle through the piece of fabric that lies limp in her lap. Rui hovers over her side watching closely as she mends the fabric offering her more thread made from his webs as she goes.
His large lavender eyes occasionally flicker from the fabric up to her and back again throughout the process, intrigued by her ability to repair such a destroyed piece of clothing. Rui's eyes trail from her and towards the garden and he stands up hesitantly walking towards the edge of the shaded engawa. He stares wistfully at the sun bathed landscape before him and reaches out just mere inches from a warm strand of sunlight.
A large hand grabs his hand startling the boy as he stares up at the vibrant fuschia eyes of the sound pillar. "I wouldn't do that you'll burn if you touch it" Tengen turns the boy away from the sunlight and leads him back towards Sakiya who watches from her seated spot with a look of concern and sadness on her face.
"Thank you Uzui-san" Sakiya says and holds her arms out to Rui who stumbles into them laying his head on her fabric covered lap. Sakiya sighs sadly and rubs his head gently knowing how much he misses the sun and wishes that one day he will be able to feel the warmth of it upon his skin again.
"Are you going to continue to call me by my last name forever?" Tengen asks and he sits down across from her, an eyebrow raised.
Sakiya stares at the man silently making him chuckle at her "I thought we were closer than that. You are welcome to use my name. You did save my best friend's life after all, Sakiya"
Sakiya hufs lightly and gives him a softened expression that is just on the cusp of a smile "What brings you to the butterfly mansion today, Uzui-san? No missions taking up your free time?"
"I am hosting a picnic with my wives. I wish to bring you as a thank you for what you did for Kyojuro" Tengen tells her and her eyes widen at his proposal.
"Oh no. I wouldn't want to impose on your and your wives time together. You must not get much of it with your line of work" Sakiya says and watches as the sound hashira grabs her free hand and holds it tightly.
