"Boy, it's a good thing you drew me a picture..." The tattoo artist said, his voice full of sarcasm, as he looked at the paper Scott had given him with a draw of two rectangles.
"Hey, Scott!" Stiles said, turning Scott's attention to Stiles. Over the summer, Scott got fit and focused on school, Harlow grew leaner and her once curly hair now straightened, and Stiles emerged with a shocking glow-up, and hair. "You sure you don't want something like this?" He showed Scott a drawing of a lizard looking man making Scott and Harlow both give him a raised eyebrow. "Too soon?" Making Harlow nod.
"Too soon, Stiles. Too soon." Harlow said, making Stiles nod at the girl.
"Yeah..." Stiles said. "I don't know, man. Are you sure about this? I mean, these things are pretty permanent, you know?" Making Scott nod as he smiled.
"I'm not changing my mind." Scott said, making Stiles nod, while Harlow just looked at the piece of paper that Scott drew for his tattoo.
"Okay, but why two bands, though? Why not something cooler?" Harlow asked, as the tattoo artist sat next to Scott as he started to prepare for Scott's tattoo.
"I just like it." Scott said, making Stiles nod at what Harlow said before looking at Scott.
"But don't you think your first tattoo should have some sort of meaning? You know, or something?" Stiles asked, making Scott nod as he looks at his two best friends.
Since his breakup with Allison, and Sam away to New Orleans for the summer. Harlow and Scott had spent any moment they could hanging out with each other. The two really bonded while Stiles started complaining as he now felt like a third wheel.
"Getting a tattoo means something." Scott said, but Stiles wasn't so sure as he spoke.
"I don't think that's-" Stiles said, well tried too before the tattoo artist cut him off.
"He's right. Tattooing goes back thousands of years. The Tahitian word tatua means "to leave a mark," like a rite of passage." The tattoo artist said as he prepared the needle, making Stiles back away as he looked at the size of the needle making him gulp.
