-Ella's Pov-
I look at my phone and anxiously watch at the minutes change. I haven't talked to Luke since New Years and it's already been a week. Shawn and I hung out a couple times until he left for LA. He wanted to make sure I didn't overthink the situation. Thankfully, Allison took Ashton out so we could talk in the apartment alone. He doesn't even know I'm coming but I figured I'd freak out more if he had time to think about it.

I knock on his door and hear the sound of his crutches walking closer. When he sees it's me he freezes for a second before letting me in. The tension already thick in the air.

"I thought you were gonna give me the silent treatment forever," he states, leaning on the back of the couch.

"I wasn't giving you the silent treatment. I just didn't know what it say after what you did," I tell him.

"Are you mad at me?" He reluctantly asks. His whole demeanor changed once he realizes I'm not angry with him anymore. Most of his weight being put on the couch as he sets his crutches down.

"I was at first but now I get it. The way you freaked out and yelled at us was a bit drastic but I get it. You were being protective but Luke I'm a grown women I don't need you fighting my battles" I tell him. He clenches his jaw and looks at me before speaking. His knuckles turning white from how hard he's gripping the couch.

"He's been an asshole to you for too long and you're gonna let him think that's okay," he criticized.

"It's Calum. Not some stranger off the street. You know him better than anyone. That's not who he is. He's just scared," I tell him.

"Just cause he's scared doesn't mean he should treat you that way," he points out.

"We are working on that. Please just trust me on this," I plead.

"How did this happen? One second you guys are fighting the other you're naked in his bed," he says.

"It was a spur of the moment type thing. I'm just as shocked as you are," I say with a slight laugh.

"Does Calum hate me?" He asks, moving to grab a water from the fridge. I tell him to sit and grab it for him, bringing it over to him.

"Calum's still nervous about you being mad at us," I tell him.

"What if he drops you again? At some point you have to realize you can't give him more chances," he states.

"I know and I think this time is different. I sound like a broken record but it does," I tell him.

"Are you sure this is what you want?" He asks. I nod my head and he just takes a deep breath, "I guess I should talk to Calum now," he says.

"And you're not gonna attack him?" I ask.

"No, he'd kick my ass right now but no promises when my ankles healed," he jokes, "Why couldn't you like Michael or Ashton," he grumbles under his breath.

"You can't help who you love," I point out. He freezes in his spot and looks at me like I'm crazy.

"Love? You love him?" He asks. I sit there for a moment and contemplate running away again.

"If I said yes would you freak out?" I ask.

"Does he feel the same way?" He asks me surprised. Most of the time growing up I would always turn my head at love. I never really dated anyone besides Dean.

"I haven't told him yet. Luke please don't ruin this before it even begins. I think we are finally in a good spot. He's apologized for being an asshole. He's all in this time," I tell him, desperate for his approval.

"Okay. I get it but if he hurts you again that's it. You guys are done. There's more at play than your emotions here. The band just got recognized and if he breaks your heart we would have to replace him," he says, with a laugh at the end to tell me he's joking.

"Are you going to talk to him?" I ask, finally relaxing on the couch.

"Do you want me to?"

"I think you both need to. You're best friends, don't let my stupid feelings for each him get in the way of that," I tell him. He rolls his eyes before offering to order dinner if I'm staying.

"This has been one of the worst weeks of my life," I groan, grabbing a blanket from the back of the couch.

"How come? You hung out with Shawn and finally made up with Calum," he points out.

"Yeah but we were fighting so I couldn't enjoy it. The only times we've stopped talking like that was when we were kids. Remember when you stole my Barbie and I had the guys pin you down so I could find it," I ask, going down memory lane.

"Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Calum had a crush on you back then. He would do anything for you. It was so annoying," he says, fully laughing now.

"I think he was too focused on soccer and music to notice girls at that age," I reply. He tells me he ordered us some Thai food before sitting back down.

"Why do I have to talk to him about this? It's already weird to think about how he saw you naked," he groans, putting his head in a pillow.

"Ew don't think about that. Just talk to him and do the typical 'if you hurt her I'll hurt you' speech and that's it," I tell him. He rolls his eyes before throwing the pillow at my head.

"Oh my god wait. Since we weren't talking you haven't heard the good news. The guys told me I should be the one you hear it from," he says. I look at him with wide eyes as he takes a dramatic pause.

"We went to the studio and they signed us officially. We are gonna start recording our first album professionally in a couple of days," he says. I scream and run over giving him a big hug.

"That's incredible. Do mom and dad know?" I ask, sitting back on the couch.

"Not yet. I was thinking of going over for dinner one night and telling them," he tells me.

"Luke, I'm so happy for you. You guys deserve it. I'm very excited to hear how you guys sound in a real studio," I smile.

"So is Kennedy," he says, making me smile even wider at their relationship.

"I love you. You're a pretty good brother," I tell him.

"Love you too. Now stop being so sappy and get the food from downstairs," he barks back. I raise an eyebrow and throw the pillow back at him. But since he is on crutches I still get the food from downstairs. I'm a great sister he just doesn't realize it.
