-Ella's Pov-

I rub the sleep out of my eyes as I make my way through the house. I check through the peephole and see Calum standing there. A yawn escapes my lips as I twist the handle and open it up. His shoulders bounce as he shivers in the cold winter air.

"What are you doing here at 2 am on a Friday night?" I ask, inviting him in.

"Couldn't sleep," he says.

"You know if my parents find out you're here without Luke they will kill us right?" I ask.

"Who's gonna tell them?" He whispers, walking up the stairs. I lock the door behind him before following after him. My brain not fully functioning at this hour. Once I get into my room I can see him making himself comfortable in my bed. His shoes on the floor at the foot of the bed.

"Cal, you woke me up and I've had a rough day at school," I groan, locking the door behind me. He lifts the blankets and opens his arms and I immediately collapse into them.

"You're cold," I mumble, as he plays with the ends of my hair.

"You feel warm. Have you been feeling okay?" He asks, kissing the top of my head.

"I'm fine. Why couldn't you sleep?" I ask, changing the subject. My fingers dancing on the hem of his shirt.

"I was just thinking about the record deal," he says, placing his chin on top of my head.

"What about it?"

"Just nervous is all. Now get some sleep we can talk more in the morning. We can get breakfast and then go to the apartment and watch Supernatural," he whispers, rubbing my back.

"God, I love you," I mumble before falling asleep.

——

"Wake up, I think your parents are awake," Calum whispers, tucking my hair behind my ear.

"It's fine I locked the door," I tell him, curling up in his side. I look up at his face and he's staring back at me with a smile, "What are you looking at?" I glare.

"You look cute right now. Sorry if my staring offended you," he sasses. I lean up and kiss his cheek before swiftly getting out of bed. I tell him to hold on a second before running to the bathroom. I quickly brush my teeth and run back seeing him sitting up. I notice he's shirtless and can't help my wondering eyes.

"What are you looking at?" He teases as I jump back in bed. I connect my lips with his and he immediately moves his hands to my waist, "What was that for?" He asks as we pull away.

"I'm just happy you came to me last night. It's nice to know I'm someone you can go to," I tell him, resting my head on his chest. I can hear his subtle heartbeat as he rubs my thigh.

"Ella, sweaty. Luke's coming over for dinner tomor-," my mom says coming into my room. Shit I forgot to lock it again, "When did this become a thing?" She smirks.

"Mom, please shut the door," I groan.

"Hi, Mrs Hemmings," Calum waves.

"You should be happy I opened the door and not your father," she says before shutting it behind her. I cover my face in embarrassment and hear a small chuckle.

"Look on the bright side she wasn't mad," he points out.

"Can we go to your place, please?" I ask. He pulls me in for another kiss and nods his head.

"Get dressed and I'll meet you in the car," he says. I watch as he goes over to the window and slides it open.

"What the fuck are you doing?" I ask, standing in front of the closet.

"Don't want Mr. Hemmings to see me. He'd kick my ass," he says, sliding out to walk on the roof outside my window. I run over and see him climbing down, "not my first time sneaking in and out of your house," he winks. I walk back to my closet and change into some pajama pants and a sweatshirt.

"I'm going to Michael and Cal's. Be back tomorrow," I call out. I grab my keys and run out to Calum's car. The heat is blasting and we both shiver as he pulls out of my driveway.

————
"Have you talked to Luke yet?" I ask as we walk into his apartment. Michael is sitting in the living room playing video games.

"Yeah, we talked the other night. It was kind of awkward but I think we are fine now," he tells me. I smile at the thought of them being fine again before the door opens.

"Speak of the devil," I laugh as Luke walks in with Ashton.

"I didn't know you were here," he says, giving me a quick hug. Ashton just ruffles my hair and goes to play with Michael.

"Now that they are here we can just go out to eat or order something," Calum offers.

"Let's stay in. It's cold and snowy out there," I state.

"What haven't we had in a while?" Luke says, walking into the living room. Ashton suggests the diner down the street and Michael looks up if it delivers or not.

"I could go for some pancakes," I say, grabbing the blanket from Michael to share.

"We can pick it up. Everyone tell me their order and I'll call it in," Calum says, writing down what everyone says. He steps out of the room to order and Ashton gives me a look.

"So things are going well?" He asks. Luke immediately tunes into the conversation and I can't help but laugh.

"Yes. Mom knows about us now by the way," I inform Luke.

"How'd she take it?"

"She didn't seem surprised. She also said you are coming over for dinner tomorrow night," I smile.

"Figured it's time to give them a life update," he says. Calum comes back into the room and sits down next to me, slinging his arm over my shoulders.

"Who wants to pick it up?" He asks.

"I'll do it. I've been home all day," Michael offers. Luke says he will go with him and that they will leave in a couple minutes.

"How's everyone in the love department?" I ask, looking at the guys. I feel Calum's arm tense around me and ignore it for now.

"What's up with you becoming friends with our girlfriends and not having any time for us?" Michael asks, pausing his game.

"Do you wanna talk about my period with me or should I continue talking with the girls?" I ask.

"First off ew and second off double ew," Ashton says.

"Y'all should get going, they said it was slow and it should be ready by the time you walk there," Calum says, moving his arm back to himself. He looks at Ashton and all four of them either leave the apartment or the room. I pull my phone out and see it's almost dead. Must of forgot to plug it in last night. I start walking to Calum's room to borrow him when I hear the guys whispering.

"Woah, she told you she loved you?" Ashton asks. Fucking sleep deprived brain.

"I know. I just don't know if it was cause she was half asleep or if she meant it," he says, sounding like he's freaking out.

"Do you feel the same way?" Ashton asks. It sounds like they both just sat down and their whispering becomes even quieter. I decide to stop eavesdropping in case my feelings get hurt and continue walking to Calum's room. I sit on his bed and plug my phone in before laying down.

"Ella? Where did you go?" Calum yells from the hallway. I tell him I'm in his room and he walks in looking confused, "Still tired?" He asks. I sit up and cross my legs as he sits in front of me.

"Borrowing your charger," I tell him with a small smile. I want to know what he said to Ashton but I guess I'll find out when he's ready go tell me. Why is love so complicated? Why is Calum so complicated?
