Holt's POV
"So how was your day?"

"Annoying. Paul was trying to get me to deck him."

"Someone was offering to fight with you and you refused?"

"You told me to stay outta trouble so...I did. It was hard as hell but I did it. He was saying all of this shit. I don't want to tell you. Not right now at least. You're in the hospital. You're supposed to be resting."

"Okay. That's fine."

"Your mom told me, your vision is a bit clearer. Does your head hurt less?"

"Eh. The pain meds are starting to work. I'm so tired though."

"Didn't I tell you, to rest?"

"I know. I just didn't want to miss you. Plus I didn't wanna miss my nuggets. Or you. I uh...I've been waiting."

"I know. Your mom told me. She also said, she doesn't remember the last time, you've been this happy."

"I don't remember the last time, I've been this happy either."

"Oh uh...I got you something too. I'll give it to you, after we eat."

"You didn't have to get me anything."

"I know. I just felt like it."

"I stayed in bed all day. I managed to shower on my own so that was good. My nurse was waiting outside just in case. I had a hard time getting dressed though."

"Oh! You're in regular clothes."

"I'm so much more comfortable now. My mom brought me some clothes. Hey uh...if I give you my combo, can you empty out my locker for me?"

"Yeah sure. Remind me at the end of the day. I'll do it before I come here."

"Thanks. Was your mom mad, you were here for a while?"

"No. No she wasn't. She was worried. That's my fault. I normally call when, I'm gonna be out late. I lost track of time yesterday."

"Oh no. That's probably my fault. I-I kept you here for hours."

"It's not your fault. I'm the one who wanted to stay. She knows, I might be out late now."

"Don't stay late though. You'll only worry her more."

"True."

I cleaned up after we were done eating. I helped her wash her hands.

"I'm fine. I'm good."

"You can hardly stand."

"My legs are week. I haven't really walked today."

I washed my hands then brought her back to the bed.

"So what did you get me?"

I opened my bookbag.

"I figured you'd be lonely so..I got you a friend."

I pulled the sloth stuffed animal out of my bag. I handed it to her.

"Aw! It's so cute! Thank you!"

"You're welcome. Do you name your things too?"

"Yeah. I think....I'm gonna name this one...Missy."

"That's a good name."

She took the tag off and handed it to me. She put her arms around the stuffed animal.

"Did you think about, what you're gonna do about school?"

"No. I'm not focusing on it now. Like you said, I have to rest."

"True. I did say that. Did you watch anything today?"

"Eh. There's literally nothing to watch."

"Did you find anything on our phone?"

"I did. Hospital wifi sucks though."

I sat next to her. She yawned. I put my arm around her.
