I'm glad you decided to give this book a try. It's been a long time since I've written fanfiction and since I'm currently watching Grey's for the first time, I thought I'd take the inspiration and run with it.
Although the story is set in the 'Grey's universe', a few disclaimers need to be put in place. If you haven't finished the series and don't want any spoilers, I'd suggest closing this off now.
-Derek doesn't die
-George, Mark, Lexie and Heather Brooks still do
-Burke, Izzie, Cristina and Shane all leave
-Alex, April, and Jackson don't leave
-April gives birth to Harriet and divorces Jackson before joining the army and leaves Harriet with Jackson, intending to take full custody once she returns
-The only characters I own are Taylor Dawson and Luke Gallagher, everyone else is courtesy of Shondaland.
-Most of the story will be from around the season 10 storyline, bringing April and Jackson's divorce forwards, but there will be a lot of flashback chapters. These will be identified in italics, like this, so that you can get to know Taylor's story. Much of the beginning will be flashbacks.
-There will be obvious characters who aren't here. I have decided not to include Amelia Shepherd or Maggie Pierce, seeing as this is a Jackson-centric fic and he doesn't date Maggie. Teddy Altman is the head of cardiothoracics following Burke's and Yang's departures.
