"I can't begin to tell you how long I've been wanting to do that." Jackson said as he pulled away.
My lips screamed for him, desperate to have his presence touching them again. And I was rendered completely and utterly speechless.
"Kiss me again." I found the words and felt them leave my body, the smirk on Jackson's face being the last thing I saw as we closed our eyes and connected again. This time I pulled away, only when my stomach rumbled loudly. Jackson laughed, head thrown back, and linked our hands together.
"Come on, let's feed the demon in your stomach before you eat me."
"I hate you, you just ruined a moment!" Jackson chuckled and opened my door for me.
"Shut up and let's get this date 'over and done with' hmm?" I rolled my eyes and pulled the door closed, flipping him off with a smile on my face.
"So where are you taking me?" Jackson chuckled as he shook his head.
"Wow, romance isn't wasted on you, huh?"
"I don't like surprises."
"Too bad." I rolled my eyes but actually stopped pushing, much to Jackson's surprise. "That's it? You're not gonna ask anymore?"
"Do you want me to annoy it out of you?" I asked him honestly.
"I guess not. I totally won that round."
"Just because I'm not questioning your choice of restaurant doesn't mean you win Jackson Avery." He chuckled.
"Totally does." I laughed along with him and allowed that same comfortable silence to take over as we drive through the streets of downtown Seattle.
"Not The Pink Room." I said, breaking the silence once again.
"I know" I turned to him.
"You do?"
"Yeah, you told me it was your spot and Steph mentioned it to me when I asked her for advice."
"You asked Steph for advice about where to take me?"
"No, I asked Steph whether to take you. I had no idea if you were even ready for something like this. But now I'm beginning to realize you didn't either." I smiled.
"You're right, I didn't. And I never would have if I didn't just throw caution to the wind and go for it."
"Seems to be a common occurrence in your life Dawson."
"Apparently. Why did you persist in calling me Tay? You knew how I felt about it." Jackson chuckled.
"Why didn't you stop me? You knew how you felt about it."
"Touché. I don't know, I guess it reminded me a lot of the shooting and us being together then. I hated it for so long because I left after that and came back to everything completely different. But whenever you called me Tay, I don't know, I guess it felt like maybe things hadn't changed. So unless I was super mad, I didn't bother correcting you."
"Oh, believe me, I remember the mad corrections." We both laughed. "So I can keep calling you Tay?"
"I don't think I could respond to anything else." I answered honestly.
"Good. We're here." I looked out the window.
"Fonda La Catrina?" I read out loud with question in my tone.
"Mexican food, really good Mexican food."
"Let's get it over with then, huh?" I joked, Jackson shoving me jokingly in response.
