Dori, nori and ori

Ori was raised by his three siblings cousins, dori nori and y/n, when nori begins to steal to support them, dori finds out and is not happy about it so he tries to keep ori from knowing
Nori's pov
"Im off to the market" i say and i hear ori's little footsteps coming up behind me "nori, are you going to the market" he asks and i sigh turning round to see him holding his drawing book and his quill "kili and fili told me about a toy shop down in the market, do you think we could go?" He asks and i sigh kneeling in front of him "maybe next time ori, i promise you" i say and he spins the quill round his finger "you said that last time nori" he says and i sigh standing up "not this time ori" i say before going to walk out the door but dori catches my arm "don't do anything stupid nori" he says and i roll my eyes "im not a kid dori stop treating me like it" i say before pulling my arm from his grasp and leaving to the market where i nick a few small trinkets as i pass the stalls but i end up getting caught by the guard, he begins our usual brawling match but this time a loud scream of my name stops us both and i turn to see ori standing amongst the crowd in tears "bugger" i say shoving the guard off me and going to ori "its alright ori, im alright" i say but he continues to scream and cry holding my leg tightly "nori" he says and i lift him up disregarding the pain in my body to comfort him "nori got hurt?" He asks whilst still sobbing and i shake my head not paying any attention to the black spots in my vision as i look at him "but" he says and i smile "ori, im alright" i say but he just holds me tightly still crying as everyone watches us even the guard who looks shocked "you wanna go to the toy shop?" I ask and he nods wiping his nose on my sleeve "alright then lets go" i say and he sniffles leaning his head on my shoulder as i walk to the toy shop he was talking about "morning" the shop keep dwarf says smiling "good morning" i say and he looks up "bofur" i say and he smiles "by my beard nori, i haven't seen you in months" he says smiling "who's this wee one?" He asks and ori sits up in my arms still sniffing "ori mister, im nori's little brother" he says and bofur smiles "well its nice to meet you ori, im bofur what kind of toy are you looking for?" He asks and ori smiles brightly climbing out my arms and down my leg before following bofur about the shop looking at the different wooden toys as i touch my nose causing pain to shoot through my face, the same with a few other places on my face, my arms are scratched and my leg is covered in gravel rash "this one mister bofur it looks so cool" ori says and i look up to see him holding a wooden war ram, "its yours then, free of charge and you come back at any time and i can make you some more" bofur says smiling as bifur and bombur walk out from the back of the shop "nori, by durin your so much older now" bifur says in khuzdul making ori jump and look scared "its alright little one bifur means no harm, see the axe in his head?" Bombur says and ori nods "that's making him only speak in khuzdul or hand gestures, he's not that scary" bombur says and ori nods "im sorry mister bifur i didn't see you coming up behind me" ori says and bifur smiles at him "its alright little one" he says in khuzdul making ori look confused since he's not fully fluent in khuzdul yet "he says its alright ori" i say and he nods "look nori, look mister bofur gave me it" he says running over to me as fast as his little legs can carry him "its very nice ori did you say thank you?" I ask and he smiles "thank you mister bofur" he says and bofur smiles "your more than welcome little man" he says and ori smiles happily no evidence of him crying except his little red face "how bout you go with bifur and bombur to pick which toy we make you next" bofur asks and ori nods following bifur and bombur into the back workshop as bofur gives me a look "nori what happened this time, and no lies that lad's been crying so out with it" he says and i sigh sitting on the chair he pulls out for me as he grabs a first aid kit from under the counter "i can't get a job anywhere bofur i've tried, but in the end i've been having to nick things from the stalls to be able to pay for stuff for ori like clothes and his drawing pads, usually im careful but today my head was up my arse and ori seen breyfen beating the daylights out of me, i have never heard him scream like that before" i say and he nods "i heard him from here so i can so i can guarantee dori heard it" he says and i sigh as he begins to clean the cuts on my arms "dori's going to kill me, the mines won't take me, no shop will hire me, so i don't know what to do" i say and he sighs "ye can try yer hand at carving if ye want i'll pay you a good wage and everything" he says and i nod as the door opens "nori where is he?" Dori yells and i flinch as bofur clicks my nose into place "mahal's hairy balls" i mutter having to close my eyes from the pain "answer me nori" dori yells and bofur says "dori he's in the back with bifur and bombur, their showing him how we make our toys" hearing this dori stands still before his eyes fall to me "why did he scream nori and don't you bullshit me" dori says as i look up at him "he seen breyfen knocking seven bells of hell out of me" i say and he sighs "nori this is going to hurt like a bitch" bofur says as he pours alcohol on my leg making me sputter out a groan biting my hand "by durin nori you need to be more careful or we're going to have to leave" dori says as someone comes in "masters bofur, bombur and bifur" the person says and bofur nods "aye down here, what is it" he says from the floor "a letter" he says handing bofur a letter and leaving "thank you" bofur says opening it "here nori there's a way for you to make some money, thorin's arranging that in about fifty years a quest to take back erebor, you could do that once ori's old enough to come with you, and in the mean time you work here with bifur and i" bofur says and i nod, ori comes running through holding not one but two war ram toys making me smile "look nori, i helped mister bifur make it" he says and i smile "that's great ori, how bout you show dori" i say and he looks at dori before smiling brightly "dori" he squeals jumping into his arms "hi monster" dori says as he catches him "bombur" bofur shouts and bombur comes through "watch the shop for a bit" he says as dori and ori walk outside "come on, up ye get" bofur says helping me up "you three are coming with me for a bit" bofur says as he helps me walk beside him, "where are we going mister bofur?" ori asks playing with his war rams on dori's head as he sits on his shoulders "to a little tavern for some lunch" bofur says and both dori and i look at him wide eyed "stop it you two, yer no payin i am" he says and we nod "dori" ori whines as dori's head moves "sorry ori" dori says making me smile as they begin to chat about whatever ori thinks up "dori, do you think that hobbits have big feet?" ori asks and bofur smiles "aye lad they do i had a hobbit come into ma shop just last week, they dinnae wear shoes" bofur says and ori looks at his boots "don't even think about it ori, you'll catch a cold" i say and he just looks at me "you can't tell me what to do, your a thief" he says with an new look of confidence "fine by all means get a cold but im no buying your sketchbooks any more" i say letting go of bofur "i can walk ma self bofur" i say and he nods "you go ahead" i say and dori looks at me "bofur its just the little tavern two streets down right?" dori asks and bofur nods "ori go with bofur, nori and i will catch up" he says and ori nods as dori hands him to bofur, "take yer time" he says to dori who nods, they walk up the snow covered ground ori's laugh echoing down the almost empty street "out with it" dori says and i can help but cry "im trying so hard dori" i mumble as he hugs me "i know you are, im so proud of you nori, you're doing so well, you got a job, a quest in a few years time that i will be going with you on" he says as i lean my head on his shoulder "hearing thief from ori felt worse than everyone else" i say as dori wipes my face with his sleeve "he's at the first rebellion stage, you went through it, i went through it, y/n went through it, we just need to make sure he doesn't do anything drastic" dori says and i nod "now lets go get lunch before bofur comes to get us" he says helping me to the tavern since my leg is still throbbing "dori!" ori shouts and dori smiles as we make our way over to him "where's bofur ori?" i ask and he ignores me "ori don't ignore nori, that's rude" dori scolds and ori lets out a cry "dori you enjoy yer lunch" i say letting go of him and walking home ignoring the pain from my leg "can i help you?" i say finding someone sitting on the doorstep "are you mister dori or nori or miss y/n" she asks and i nod "nori, what can i do for you lass?" i say and she smiles "you have been summoned by king thorin" she says and i sigh "alright, im guessing now" i say and she nods pointing to a tent across from my house with the durin family symbol on it "mahal" i mutter going over to the tent with the lass "your majesty" she says and the door opens revealing thorin, dwalin and balin all watching my every move "thank you lass, you may leave" balin says as he looks down at a pile of papers "nori, i would have rather have discussed this with your brother or sister around but we can't seem to find them" thorin says and i nod "he's with master bofur and our younger brother ori as for my sister i think she's working but i don't know" i say trying not to offend him "i keep having people, stall holders interrupting my work to inform me of theft in the market, obviously i can't have that nori you understand" he says and i nod "not to mention the countless number of reports of a scream of your name heard for miles" he says and i run a hand down my face with a nod "that would have been ori" i say and thorin sighs "nori do you have a job here in the blue mountains?" dwalin asks and i nod "master bofur offered a place working by his side making toys" i say and they nod "how recently" balin asks and i sigh "this morning after what happened with ori" i say and thorin runs a hand over his short beard, "im sorry nori but your criminal record is causing issues, its either you leave the blue mountains or you spend the next seventy years in a jail cell" he says and i sigh grabbing my hair in my hands "i can't leave dori, y/n and ori, i can't pull ori out of his schooling now" i say and thorin sighs "im sorry nori but its your choice" he says and i sigh "can i speak with dori before making a decision?" i ask and he gives a small nod "thank you" i say walking out and going back into my house, waiting for dori was the worst part, after an hour and a half he comes back carrying a sleeping ori "i need to speak to you dori" i say and he nods carrying ori up to his bed before coming back down to where im sitting "what's wrong nori?" he asks and i sigh "the king summoned me today, he told me that i was to leave or i could spend the next seventy years in a jail cell" i say and he sighs "we will come with you nori if you chose to leave" he says and i shake my head "no ye can't pull the wee man out of school and y/n wouldn't leave not with me anyway" i say and he sighs "im going to have to leave on my own for a few years dori" i say and he looks down as the door opens, a tired looking y/n steps in the door shaking from the cold air "oh hello" she says smiling to us "lass come sit down please" i say and she looks confused but sits beside me "you know what i've had to do these past few years to afford ori's books and clothes, its finally caught up to me lass, i either have to leave or i will be thrown in jail for the next seventy years" i say and she starts to cry "nori you can't leave, let dori and i speak to the king first please" she says andi shake my head "he was clear on my options lass" i say and she gives me a look "i am going to talk to the king, i will not lose my big brother" she says standing up and walking away out the door "we best follow her to make sure she doesn't do anything stupid" dori says and i nod, since the kings tent is still across from our house we catch up to her quickly and walk inside "ah nori, have you made you choice" he says and i look down "my brother isn't leaving, he can't it would break ori's heart" dori says and thorin sighs "im sorry but your brother knows his choices" he says and y/n begins to cry again "have you no prospects of family, put yourself in our shoes, dori and i work overtime to just keep our house, nori's doing his best to keep a six year old fed, warm and happy but no where hires him, my family will die if you send my brother away, we promised our father to look after ori but dori and i can't do that without our brother" y/n says sobbing heavily "lass come here" i say and she instantly hugs me crying into my chest "give him another chance thorin i beg of you" dori says and thorin nods "one more charge of theft, one more scuffle in the market, one more bad record with his name on it and he will be thrown in a cell for the rest of his life" he says and i nod "i understand" i say and he nods dismissing us, i lift up y/n disregarding the pain in my body and carry her back home "lass" i say and she looks up at me red faced and teary eyed "i have a job lined up working with bofur and bifur in their toy shop" i say and she smiles "just don't be stupid nor i can't lose my big brother" she says leaning her head on my shoulder "lass as much as im happy to hold you normally, i had seven bells of hell knocked out of me earlier" i say and she jumps out of my arms looking at me shocked "and you said nothing!" she shouts before going quiet realising ori is upstairs asleep well was asleep "dori" he shouts making dori sigh going to stand up before ori comes down holding his blanket and his teddy bear "y/n" he says hugging her "hi little man, im sorry if i woke you" she says as he snuggles into her "its okay" he mumbles beginning to fall asleep on her lap, she pulls a blanket over both herself and him, leaning back letting him wriggle until he's comfortable "dori stay with us" she says as dori goes to walk up the stairs "let me get the blankets from upstairs, i will be back down in a minute" he says as she leans her head on my shoulder "why are you so warm nori?" she says before yawning "who knows y/n" i say making her smile as ori moves from snuggling up to her to laying across our laps

time skip - 50 years later - y/n's pov

"bofur!" ori shouts running towards the only dwarf in the crowd with a hat on "hello little one" bofur says hugging him "im not that little now" ori says making him smile as the two wooden war rams hang from ori's belt "ah lass you look wonderful" bofur says hugging me "nice to see you too bofur" i say smiling "where'd my big brothers get to now, i swear their always late" i say before screaming as someone grabs me "you ass nori" i yell seeing him putting me on his shoulders "you scared the life out of me" i say flicking his nose as he laughs "sorry lass, here" he says handing me a wooden butterfly "thanks" i say and he puts me down
