ARYA SAVIER

"Kyaaah! That was so sweet! I can't still get over the fact that he said those words!"

Jadey was squealing like a fan-girl. We were currently on our rooms taking a recess break.

"Shush! Will you lower your voice down?! Someone might hear!" I hissed. I was blushing like crazy yeah I know.

"But honestly Arya, he seems like he's into you." Lieu shrugged while munching off some chips.

"Jadey, are you really okay with this? I mean you don't need to -

"Hush! You don't need to worry about me okay? I'd choose you over him in a million times and it was just a crazy infatuation! Besides, I've got a new crush!" Jadey excitedly squeezed my shoulders.

"What?! Would you please stop on your silly man daydreams? Get a life will you? You should focus on your studies!" Lieu ranted again and they started another bickering round.

But seriously though, Brian's words kept on reoccurring in my mind. Why did he said that in front of my friends in the first place? Clearly he was teasing me.

Argh! He really likes messing up my brains damn it!

"Are you okay Arya? You seemed preoccupied."

I looked up to see a worried Royce. Come to think of it, I haven't seen this guy in a while. I wonder what's keeping him busy.

"Huh? I'm okay, why?"

"Your hair's going to fall out with you pulling it like that and besides, you're the only one left in the room. The bell rang a while ago and everyone went down to the gym."

Oh dam, I'm such an airhead sometimes. But where are those two? They probably were too busy bickering with each other that they forgot about me.

"Thanks for warning me Royce! I didn't even realized I'm spacing out!"

Royce chuckled at this. "It's okay, let's go."

We proceeded to the gym to take the usual dance practices. Today the class is practicing the individual dances. The boys and girls are divided into different groups and each have their own dances.

Girls are assigned for a traditional Muslim dance that involves the handkerchief as main props. Our teacher made us to stand in line by height and made some formations based on it.

To my surprise, I was huddled in the front line with the others who are somewhat taller than me. I found myself in a very nerve-wracking situation.

You see, I never really was good in dancing. Ever since that incident in elementary, when my teacher singled me out and embarrassed me in front of my classmate by saying I've got two left feet, I stopped trying to dance.

But now here I am again, a fish out of water being forced to dance. Not only that, I'm assigned in the freaking front position too where many people could see.

Oh great! Really great! Surely, this is bound to be a disaster!

For days, our P.E teacher focused on posture training. She emphasized that the Muslim princesses danced with grace.

"Chin up, held your head high and look down only with your eyes! Every move should be coordinated."

Don't get me wrong, even though I said I stopped trying to become a dancer long ago, this was a completely different matter.
