"1...2...3... Heave-ho!" A grunting noise greeted me as I entered the 4th floor lab rooms. Lieutenant was currently trying to lift the large canvass.
"What is going on?" I asked a grinning Jadey who was watching Lieutenant Do all the hard work.
"Lieutenant is currently trying to bring your artwork down to the stage."
"And why would he do that?" I asked.
"It appears that the judges would like the whole school to see your artworks. They had also decided to do the judging there. Don't you think it was better if your artworks are hung on the walls of the stage rather than being locked up here in this solitary place?" Jadey raised her eyebrows at me.
"Eh?!! You mean the whole school would see our work?!" I was shocked.
"Of course! You should be proud! I'm sure you'll win this competition!" Jadey excitedly hugged me.
"Uhm...guys, if you're already done with the display of affections just tell me so I could ask for your help? This isn't really heavy you know!" Lieutenant scolded us sarcastically we just laughed at his pun.
We patiently carried the huge canvass downstairs. After 3 days of hard work we were finally ready to show it to the world err... campus. I couldn't stop feeling uneasy. What if they don't like what we've done? What if we finish on the last place? I guess it was still worth it since I get to see my artwork displayed at the grand stage.
I looked up, there were banners of lively colors hung all around. It was the first day of the intramurals after all. The school elicits an ambience of festivity. Lively music was heard around the speakers. More people and booths were gathered on the grounds. The environment is very different to the solitary 4th floors upstairs.
If the Annual Fund Raising Campaign was filled with grandness, the intramurals was more. The administration certainly didn't held back this year. They hired a carnival group to stay for the 3 day intramurals. Rides were everywhere, most popular were the Octopus, Roller coasters, Horror House and of course, the Ferris wheel.
As before, guests from different schools were welcomed. Games were also being held, participated by the different teams. This place never really failed to amaze me, the celebrations held here are nothing compared to my old private school.
"Whoa, so many people. I can't see where we're going," Jadey complained.
"Your certainly right, and we certainly need help carrying this big canvass," Lieutenant nodded.
I grunted. I was also feeling a little queasy because of this crowds. I keep on repeating what Brian said in my head. They're just fleeting ghosts...they can do no harm...
My eyesight started to blur. Am I going to faint? Was that train of thought just effective when Brian's around?
"Whoops! Careful now!"
I looked up to see a grinning Royce who was wearing a basketball jersey. He looked like he just had his basketball game. It appears that I almost fainted had Royce not supported me and the portion of the canvass I was holding, at the right time.
"Whoa! That was a close call! Thanks Royce!" Jadey muttered while balancing the canvass. It almost toppled over.
"It's nothing, hey you okay?" Royce said with concern.
"Yup, just a little dizzy."
"Where are you going to put this large canvass anyway?" Royce asked Lieutenant.
