ARYA SAVIER

I stared up at the lively banners and small flags all over the campus. The lively ambience brought about by the sports festival was still on. I was oblivious to it all.

I knew it. I shouldn't have gone to this last day of intramurals after all.

The memory of my encounter with Jadey a while ago was still fresh from my mind.

I was walking slowly on the corridors. I was so down with what happened yesterday. It was a good thing that I didn't encounter anyone I knew or so I thought. When I rounded up the corner, my eyes grew wide with what I saw.

Jadey was walking with Lieutenant. They were laughing so hard that I didn't find it in my will to disturb them. I just stopped at my tracks and stared at them. When they begin to notice me, they stopped laughing and then stared.

"J-Jadey..." I said weakly.

"Oh, I wonder who spoke. Maybe it's just the wind? Let's go Lieu! Before my day turns ugly," And with that, Jadey walked past me and didn't even gave me a glance. I wanted to go after her and say that I was so sorry but Lieu held my shoulder and shook his head.

"Give her time Arya, she's still processing things..." Lieu whispered at me sadly.

"Lieu! Are you coming or what?" Jadey called back irritably. Lieu ran to Jadey with a sorry look for me and I just lowered my head and walk away. Maybe Lieu's right. Maybe I should just let Jadey heal from the wound. But it still hurts. Losing your best friend hurts.

I couldn't help but feel regret. And doubt.

Brian kissed me and I pushed him away. I shouldn't put too much meaning on it right? I ruffled my hair in frustration.

"Wow! So you'd finally gone crazy huh?" I stared at the direction of the voice.

It was Cristie, enjoying a piece of ice cream with her usual "buds." She wave at them good bye and trotted towards me. I gaze at her with surprised eyes.

"What? Did you forget how to speak too?" I scowled. I forgot how annoying this kid could be. Like her older brother.

"N-No, I'm just s-surprised that you're here and talking to me?" I raised my eyebrows in disbelief, like I don't even believing what I'm saying.

"Stop with those stupid questions, what happened to you?" Cristie crossed her arms in her usual bossy, bratty manner.

I couldn't help but laugh. She looks like a small kid trying to become a know-it-all adult. "I'm just a bit sad since I'm all alone," I smiled sadly at her.

"Eh?! Then what the heck is that stupid Brian doing?! I thought he's with you!" She scowled.

At the mention of Brian's name, my heart cringed. It's like there was an unexplainable hole in my heart that I don't understand.

"Fine! I've decided, let's go on a crazy date!" Cristie grinned crazily.

"H-Huh? What do you mean?" I stared at her like she was some kind of stupid animal or some sort.

"I want to enjoy the sports festival, but I don't have someone to go with you hear me??? Stop complaining and let's go! You wouldn't want a child to go wandering alone do you? Where's your sense of responsibility huh?! Huh!" She blabbered and I couldn't stop myself from laughing.

It's like I'm on the rooftop again with a persistent Brian who wants me to accompany him on the Annual Fund Raising Campaign, but to a whole other level. Cristie was persistent, but funny-persistent.
