ARYA SAVIER
A bright light woke me up in my room. It was a beautiful Sunday morning, until I remembered what today was.
Today was Brian Christian Harvard's prom day.
Ugh, early in the morning and my thoughts are already with him.
I wonder what he's doing now? Maybe making some last-minute preparations for later?
How I wish I was the same age as Brian. What would it even feel like dancing with him?
I bet every girl her batch is excited. Everyone makes such a fuss during prom.
I wonder, if its my turn too, will Brian appear and whisk me away?
Now I'm starting to feel weird. Maybe I just missed him so much? Maybe...
"Being without you just sucks"
His words ran again in my head.
"Arya! Arya! Arya!" My brother invaded my room and I couldn't help but frown.
"What the heck? It's still early in the morning!" I scolded.
"You've got a package downstairs! Open it, open it!" He said rather excitedly.
Package? I don't remember someone likely to send me a package.
When I went down the stairs, mother was standing in the doorway, her arms were crossed and her eyes were staring at me as if I've got some serious explaining to do.
"Are you Ms. Arya Savier?"
"U-uh y-yes?"
"Package and flowers for you, just sign here please."
Confused, I took what he gave and signed the papers.
"Open it! Open it!" My brother kept on insisting.
"What's this young lady? Mind telling me?" Mom used her 'pretend to be curious tone but really prying tone'.
"Honestly, I've got no idea." I said rather truthfully.
I moved to the sofa and started to unwrap the package. It was my first time receiving a bouquet of flowers and I don't know why my heart was beating so fast, like what I feel everytime he's here.
My eyes widened in surprise.
It was a box and when I unwrapped it, there was the big pillow that I wanted to buy yesterday.
"Shit, he really bought it."
"He? So you do know where these gifts came from young lady?!" Mom suddenly shifted from prying to interrogating tone. I figured its dangerous ground to tread so I quickly pulled the box and ran to my room.
"Get back here young lady! We're still not finished talking!"
"Arya's got a boyfriend! Arya's got a boyfriend!" I heard them as I slammed the door.
Because of hurrying, I unconsciously dropped the box on the floor and there stumbled a white envelope.
I quickly pried it open;
To My Dearest Wife,
I really hate seeing you not getting what you want, and as your husband, I want you to know that its my duty to make you happy. But knowing you, I figured you'll be irritated instead of being grateful, so I propose a payment for that, something that only you could give, but I would've to discuss it with you the next time I see you.
P.S: You could hug the pillow tonight and think of me, if the thought of me dancing with other girls is bothering you, I assure you all you need is ask and I'll walk away from it all. Besides? I'm pretty sure my thoughts will be with you throughout the night anyway so it doesn't make a difference.
I love you.
Your incredibly handsome, almost perfect husband,
B.C.H
I couldn't help but laugh and be embarassed at the same time.
Damn, he really knows how to make my day!
He already knows I would reject the gift without payment, I wonder what he meant by that!
Ugh! He was right also about the part of me being bothered by him dancing with the other girls, but its his last year! I can't do that to him. He must experience his last prom. Besides, he already spent too much money on his clothes and that token for him not to attend.
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a ring on my phone.
"Hello?"
"Aryaaaa! Its us!"
"Flori? What's up?" It was Flori and the other girls, the ones who formed that Brian fans club who almost got me caught with that gay teacher before.
"Listen, do you know its the junior- seniors prom tonight?"
"I-I heard why?"
"Brian Christian Harvard would be there silly! And its his last year in school, he'll graduate this March and we've been thinking-
I let her words sink in.
Brian would graduate in one month and some days from now.
I wouldn't see him as often as I do now.
Not being able to see him was sad, scary even. I don't know why I felt some tears going down my cheek at the thought of never seeing Brian ever again.
"Hey Arya! You there?"
"Y-yeah, sorry what was that?"
"As I was saying we have a plan? Are you in?"
I listened on what they were thinking and my eyes widened.
"Are you freaking sure about your plan?!"
"Yep, Harvard Fans Club is back, so the real question is, are you in? Or out?"
