BRIAN CHRISTIAN HARVARD
"So this is what Honeymoon feels like huh?"
I felt her swing at my arm.
"Ouch! So first day of getting married and you're already abusing me? Is that how amazons express their love?" I chuckled.
Man-girl flushed and hit me some more.
We were currently hanging out on the rooftop after that stunt we pulled, we just want to get away from all those people.
"I remember the first time we were here. We were escaping a crowd that time too." Arya spoke, probably remembering the time we had our secret lunch.
In the end she was the one who managed to have a taste of my cooking.
"Wrong, I was the one doing the running and you were the one doing the eating!" I laughed again. And these time she chuckled too. Such music in my ears to listen to this girl's laugh.
I held her hand and we were both staring at the plastic rings.
"So...married huh?" I started.
She smiled. Then Arya stared at me as if unsure again, "B-Brian...The one you said a while ago...d-did you mean it?"
I stared at her eyes. Its as if she was afraid that what I said were fragile words, that I'll come to regret them. But I won't. And I'll say it to her a thousand times if that's what it takes to let her feel it, believe it.
"I love you..."
She swallowed. Then without warning tears suddenly flowed in her eyes. She quickly moved to wipe it away but failed. I panicked.
"W-wait! Why are you crying???!!"
She peeked then laugh.
"Y-your face..pfft!" Then she finally laughed again.
I gave out a sigh of relief.
"S-sorry about that...I-I just can't believe it." She smiled.
Ugh! Why the heck is she so cute?!
I couldn't help it, I pulled her towards me and hugged her tight.
"Why couldn't you believe it dummy?"
I felt her hug back, and it felt perfect. Everything was perfect.
"I-i mean why would you like someone like me?I-It's not like I-I'm - she was clearly lost for words. I smiled then made her look at me.
"Arya, you're imperfect yes, but every imperfection of yours only made me love you more....and I can't help it."
She flushed again. And I slowly brushed her cheeks with my fingers.
"And i think what you're feeling is just part of the newly wed anxiety so no rush." I shrugged then grinned.
That earned another smack in the arm. Ouch.
"Well! That's my girl."
She chuckled. Then we got back to staring again at the view. A wide horizon of a near coastline and the sun was about to set, way to end a hectic but perfect day.All for our eyes to see.
I suddenly remembered something.
"Say Arya?"
"Mmm?"
"Would you mind having a go at my cooking again?"
"I love your cooking..." She mumbled as she stood mesmerized by the setting sun.
"Perfect, then in return could I ask you a favor?"
"What favor?"
"Are you good at picking clothes?"
"Quite, why?"
"Because I just forgot that our prom comes in Sunday and I still haven't something to wear."
"What?! But tomorrow's already a saturday?!" She said horrified.
"Yep, so could I consider it a date then?"
She flushed again. Then I was afraid she would reject me after a while but she just said yes.
"Brian! What are you daydreaming about?!"
I was pulled back to earth when my stupid sister threw a pillow at me. I didn't notice she was standing at my doorframe staring at me like I was some kind of freak.
I was so lost in my own thoughts. Damn, do I look like a love-sick guy.
I couldn't help but brush my hair with my fingers.
"Why are you here Cristie? Shouldn't you be asleep? It's already late."
"Get dressed, you love sick idiot. I know you're happy with you're love life and all but you have to face a consequence."
What she said horrified me and confused me at the same time.
"Consequences?"
Cristie stared at me seriously; "Claudette called, she wants to have a word with you."
"Why the heck do you want me to talk with her? Don't you hate that girl?" I answered more confused.
But Cristie just shook her head. "I think you should go see her Brian, she was in the wedding booth and saw you kiss Arya. And she's broken hearted."
"But-
"When a girl puts up a last battle, i believe you should see it until the end." Cristie spoke sadly then left.
I was dumbstruck and more confused by my sister's words.
Is she really an elementary?
But I guess she's right.
Eventually, I knew this was about to happen.
I stood up to get dressed and meet the girl I once loved, to finally completely move on, and say goodbye.
