Retaliation

The next day, I resolved myself not to think about him and forget about everything that happened. Everything was going smoothly, until Jadey opened up a topic about- ugh! Do not mention his name - out of the blue.
"I'm worried about he who must not be named- and that incident at the library. What if Raul's gang get back at him and he can't defend himself? His precious face would be damaged!" Jadey exaggeratedly said. I filtered his name in my head.
From now on, he's Voldemort! He must not be named!
Well, don't worry. Surely he has that girl to fix his face, I rolled my eyes.
"Don't worry about him! I heard he's a bad ass anyway." Lieutenant said.
"I admit that Brian has his perks, but he has a reason for being cold you know." Jadey said. I was astonished by what she said and leaned in closer to hear more about it.
"What exactly are you talking about?"
"He has this girl he likes since elementary. I heard that he was so in love, but he was a shy boy back then and wasn't able to tell the girl his feelings." Jadey said solemnly.
Girl? Was that the girl I saw yesterday?
"What happened to the girl?" Lieutenant said.
"The girl fell in love with another guy. I heard they're still a couple until now."
"So, he was heartbroken and decided to break other people's hearts?" Lieutenant mockingly replied.
"That's not his fault! He never had a girlfriend, so literally it's not his fault if all those girls stick to him." Jadey defended he-who-must not be named.
"That girl must be one-of-a-kind since he never found someone to replace her in his heart." I uttered matter-of-factly. Thinking about that beautiful girl he's with yesterday.
"Probably, but I won't give up! As long as Brian doesn't have a girlfriend, I will persevere! Bwahahaha!" Jadey laughed.
"Let her be. There's no way we could cure her." Lieutenant shrugged and we proceeded to do our homework.
. . . . .
One hot afternoon during the weekend, I got bored so I took my bike out and decided to visit the secluded old airport which was my special place to hang out. As it was so hot, I stopped by a convenience store to buy some ice cream.
When I got to the convenience store, I bought cookies and cream-flavored ice cream, since it was my favorite. I cycled to the old airport and "parked" my bicycle near a tree, climbed the stairs to reach my favorite spot - the rooftop of the old watchtower building.
