The Winner
B R I A NI was surprised.
So she's here after all.
The girl who saved me from Raul's gang attended the auction. I stole a glance to the guy she bid for. Hmmm... not bad. But He looks average to me. Why would she bid for him? Does she like the guy?
I snapped out of my reverie. Why am I even thinking about ID girl right now? Shouldn't I be thinking about someone else?
I shifted uncomfortably. It shouldn't be I.D girl I'm watching out for. If my mortal enemy is here, I'm a hundred percent sure that she will also be here.
I should condition myself making sure to keep a poker face. I wasn't sure why I stole a glance on the crowd. Maybe for a chance to see Claudette and test myself if I was ready for this?
Yup, I saw her alright.
Claudette was talking to her girls, she was pretty and charming as usual, but I don't know why something about myself just wanted to look a bit to her right where I saw I.D girl located a while ago.
Wait, wasn't I stealing a glance at Claudette? Why am I looking for I.D girl?
I.D girl was laughing and smiling. She was having an animated conversation with her friends. Just like that last time on the grounds, she looked like an Angel that makes you want to stare and never gaze away.
Gah! What is wrong with me?! I can't be hypnotized right now! Brian you stupid guy! Look at Claudette, Claudette not I.D girl!
I could feel myself flush in every mental argument I'm having, I don't know why my eyes are glued. Damn this woman!
She already has someone Brian, she bid for another guy remember? Don't be silly by repeating the same mistake for a second time!
I gulped.
Before I could even think or look away, I found her beautiful eyes staring back at me.
Am I finally caught?
Was there ever a person in the world who was convicted for stealing glances? Because if there was, I don't regret it. I.D girl is sure worth it.
ARYA SAVIER
Uh-oh. I forgot about Brian! Did he see all of that?! Oh no! He saw me bid for another guy! I mentally slapped myself.
I stared at my feet afterwards. I was somewhat ashamed and confused. I stopped myself. Why should I feel like I was cheating on him when we weren't even in a relationship in the first place?
Keep it together Arya! It's not like you've done something wrong! I reassured myself.
The different guys who were auctioned were taken away one by one by their admirers. Some were happy but others cried in protest because they didn't like the girls who won the bidding. Probably their stalker or their own fan girls, I thought. But they had no choice. It was, after all, for a good cause. The teachers and the administration could be evil sometimes.
The juniors were the last ones to be called. I saw them as each of them got picked. There were only three guys left at the stage.
"Nerickson, Mark" the emcee called. I watched the guy. He was tall and looked like a basketball player.
"Whoa! I didn't know that he was a lunch boy too! Poor Brian." I heard Jadey sigh. I couldn't help but pry.
"Jadey, what are you talking about? Do you know this guy?" I asked her.
