ARYA SAVIER
The feeling of fun and excitement from the intramurals was long gone. The ambience of the air changed as the tides changed when the month of February finally drew near.
Everyone was excited as the love month came. But in my case? I think I'll just celebrate Independence Day just as I did every Valentines.
Valentines doesn't only excite the students around the campus just because it's the freaking love month, the month of February is also the month of Prom. It was the subject of every conversation around the campus.
In our school, only the Juniors and Seniors get to experience prom. This year, they are required to present different dance numbers related to love during the prom.
Juniors and seniors are frequently seen on the grounds practicing their cotillion dance, most of the girls of my class take this opportunity to spy on their crushes so they often go out towards the corridors of the fourth floor just to see the higher years dance.
"Oh how romantic. I wonder how prom feels like."
"Brian's partner is soooo lucky! She gets to dance with the most handsome man on the campus for a night!"
"Eh? Isn't he dating his girlfriend on the prom?"
"Silly! Brian's girlfriend is rumoured to come from the lower years!"
I gulped when I heard about some girls whispering on one corner. For the past few weeks, rumours had been circulating about Brian Christian Harvard's "mysterious" girlfriend.
I tried to lay low after I discovered these rumours. If it was possible to become an invisible, I would've done it already just to avoid issues.
Strange isn't it? I'm not even Brian's girlfriend and yet I'm like this. Jadey's still not talking to me. Lieutenant has been in touch secretly. Brian was... distant.
Ever since that incident at the horror house, we'd never had a single encounter. Well it was my fault actually, I'm consciously avoiding him. So, with all my friends lost in touch, I'm practically a loner the whole week.
That is why, imagine my surprise when Lieutenant suddenly grabbed me at the open cafeteria one break.
"Pssst! Arya! Come here this instant!"
Lieu dragged me towards a corner behind some vending machines.
"W-What's up?"
"Here, open this letter quick! It's from Jadey," Lieutenant seemed excited.
"Hmmm...so you didn't open this one yet? Strange."
"Silly! Of course I still respect your privacy! Hurry up! I want to know what Jadey wants to say! She had a very serious expression while writing that a while ago."
I rolled my eyes and stared at the letter rather curiously. After weeks of not talking to me and giving me a cold shoulder.... Why now?
I slowly opened the neat, white envelope and was astonished to find a rather small note inside that reads;
ARYA,
MEET ME AT THE LIBRARY ON THE GENERAL SECTION AFTER CLASS. WE NEED TO TALK, HOPE YOU'LL COME, I'LL BE WAITING.
, JADEY
