ARYA SAVIER
At the ringing of the school bell, Lieu and I blended in and went inside the first section's classroom. Jadey wasn't the only one who was transferred to another class since I could see other new faces as well and some old faces not here.
I wonder how she's doing. Is she alright? That girl is so bubbly but I knew deep inside she will be having a hard time adjusting to her new environment.
I quickly took my usual seat in the front then Lieu took in the seat beside me. I smiled. It's a good thing Lieu's here with me. I never really got along that well with my other classmates, well true most of them are social with me, but we're not really that close.
I also glanced at one side and was quite surprised to see Royce and Katherine seated together. I couldn't help but grin inwardly. Looks like Royce also saw me and waved, I waved back.
"Hey Lieu, how many do you think remained in the first section like us?"
No response.
"Lieu?" I stared at him.
"H-Huh? Oh, I-I think only the top 20 students managed to stay." Lieu said distractedly. Seemed like he's still worried about Jadey. I was about to say something else when the teacher walked in and apparently, everyone noticed so every student walked back towards their respective seats. The 'new kids' of the first section seemed to not know where to seat so they made their seats towards the back.
I always heard a rumor that the other sections think of the first section as a class full of nerds and hypocrites. I don't want to make a bad impression but I guess my former classmates don't really cared that much.
"So! Welcome to the sophomore year! Finally you're no longer idiot chicks who walks everywhere and asks about anything and everything –
"Uhm, excuse me, is this room 1C?" Just like that a curious head popped in the door. Everyone stared at him even our teacher.
It's been a few minutes of staring when one of my classmates started laughing then the others chimed in. The kid seemed to be embarrassed.
"No kid. The freshman goes to the upper floor. 4th Floor!" Our teacher barked.
"S-Sorry!" The poor kid ran. Ugh. Poor him.
"So- as I was saying, you all probably had idiotic moments like that during your freshman year. But now it's different." Our teacher said with a serious face, then the laughter and humor were gone. The atmosphere seemed to turn heavy. I couldn't help but smile.
Our teacher was a beautiful woman, but you could see in her eyes that she's not just any woman. She's not supposed to be messed up with. Even the boys were quiet.
"Responsibility. That's what I want to emphasize. You're no longer on your stupid years. You should grow up. I demand proper attendance, I expect more from you." The teacher had a cocky grin on her face. "So, prepare yourselves, we are going to have a quiz."
"WHAT?!!" Even I couldn't help but protest.
"Attendance quiz I mean." She grinned.
"OH!" Every one of us gave a sigh of relief. Then our heart skipped when a loud banging of the door was heard and we looked again at the door. My eyes widened.
"Ma'am! I'm sorry I'm late! I'm a transferee and it's my first day at campus!"
"Sh*t what's he doing here?" I cursed. The stupid guy who insulted my dog was currently standing in front and it turns out he's my classmate. Ugh! For crying out loud.
"Well, looks like we've got exceptions other than silly freshmen. What's your name?"
"Prince. Prince Har –
"Go and take a seat at anywhere you like." The teacher interrupted and shooed him away and he was barely taking some time walking when the teacher called again.
"Wait! On the second thought, just stand there. Every one of you stand up."
We all looked at each other nervously but complied.
"I think all of you are sitting near your friends and acquaintances or anywhere your comfort zone. But I don't want any comfort zones. I want you all to think outside the box so I will be the one assigning to where you will seat. Stand on the sides and wait until you're called." Just like that we all groaned.
So I watched some of my acquaintances sit with either the person they hated the most or the person they either forgot that existed or they never even knew about for the entire last year.
And just as my dumb luck would let me ...
"Ms. Savier, please sit on the empty seat on the 3rd row near the center aisle."
I hung my head low and proceeded with my seat. Surely I was not assigned near Lieu. I was looking casually on the floor and not really taking notice of my surroundings when –
"It's you again! What the hell are you doing here?!"
Shit.
Mr. Coward is blocking my way towards my seat. Translation? He's my damn seatmate. Way to go
"I'm a student here. Will you please move?" I seriously said. I was in no mood for jokes and everyone was staring at us now, thanks to loudmouth here.
"NO WAY I'M SITTING WITH YOU! IF I KNOW YOU MIGHT JUST BRING A DOG HERE AND SPILL POOP ON ME!" He was still furious about the last incident I see.
But seriously though. Everyone is staring at us. I need to do something.
"Look, I don't care about your shirt or whatever okay? But I really don't like to make a scene here so please move." I hissed.
He glowered at me. "Apologize."
Urgh! This boy is testing my patience, I really don't like him.
"Is there a problem Miss Savier?" I heard the teacher called.
Shit. Shit. Shit. This guy won't budge huh? And he's staring at me like he wants to chop me to pieces and he has his arms crossed.
I was about to reply when the room started to go havoc. The girls started screaming. I stared at the source of the commotion and my eyes widened with horror with what I saw.
