Thursday October 31st 1991

As we all get seated in Charms class Professor Flitwick starts talking and because he's a dwarf he is standing on a bunch of books to see his students. "One of a wizard's most rudimentary skills is levitation, the ability to make objects fly. Uh, do you all have your feathers?" He explains. Hermione raises her feather in the air. "Good. Now, uh, don't forget the nice wrist movement we've been practicing, hmm? The swish and flick. Everyone." All the class repeats 'swish and flick' along with Flitwick. "Good. And enunciate. Wingardium Leviosa. Off you go then." Flitwick adds. The class begin to enunciate the spell wrong while doing the movements on their feathers. "Wingardium Levio-saaa." Draco says next to me. I laugh at the way he said it. I put my head down and try "Wingardium Leviosa." I say clearly, my feather only lifted slightly off the table. Which causes Draco to laugh. "Why are you laughing, you're not even saying it right, and you can't even move your feather at all," I say glaring at him. "Oh, well done! See here, everyone! Ms. Granger and Mr. Grey have done it! Oh, splendid!" I look over to the other side of the classroom and notice that Hermione's and Atticus's were the only feathers in the air. Hermione looks back at Atticus and they have a small conversation. I notice Seamus begins swishing at his feather. "Oh no," I think to myself, suddenly BOOM!! A big explosion came from the boys wand, once the smoke had cleared, we see that his face is charred and his feather is smoldering to ashes on the desk in front of him. I hear Draco chuckling with Crabbe and Goyle next to me and I roll my eyes.

After class I'm walking towards the great hall for a free period with Atticus and Alex, and Hermione walking close behind. Neville, Harry, Ron and Seamus are walking in front of us. "It's LeviOsa, not LevioSAR." Ron accused teasing Hermione. "She's a nightmare, honestly. No wonder she hasn't got any friends." I was shocked that Ron would say something like that. I noticed Hermione as she stormed past us looking slightly upset. "I think she heard you" Harry said quietly, as I roll my eyes. "You think? She was just trying to help you, Weasley. "Alex abruptly says looking Ron in the face as he barged past, then stopping and turning around, "maybe instead of making fun of people who are friendly to you, you could actually pick up a book for once? Maybe then you wouldn't hold your friends back quite so much." He mutters before trying to find where Hermione had run off to, Atticus and I follow closely behind.

We found her just as she ran into the girls bathroom. I double over, trying to catch my breath. "Asteria.." Atticus mutters also out of breath. "Could you go check on her?" Alex continues. "Yeah give me a second," I say as I let out a few deep breaths. "I'll meet you back in the great hall," I tell the boys as I push the door open of the girls bathroom and head inside. "Hermione, It's Asteria. Are you okay?" I ask, as I walk towards the cubicle I hear sobbing from. She walks out of the cubicle, already with red puffy eyes. "We heard what Ron said, we just wanted to make sure you were okay. He shouldn't have said that." She looks at me blankly. "You know, you're nothing like your brother. You're actually nice" She says with a small smile. "Yeah I've heard that a lot. Even though I'm a pureblood, I feel like I should be allowed to be friends with who ever I want with out having to be judged on blood status. You don't know how difficult it actually is being a Malfoy." I babble. "I noticed you knew all those answers Professor Snape asked Harry in potion's too. Where did you learn those." She asked me. "Snape is a family friend and he's my Godfather, he taught me some potions when I was younger." I tell her. "You really are a talented witch." She compliments. "Not as good as you though." I tell her, both of us smiling. "Me? Books and cleverness? She replies, wiping a tear from her face. "It's almost dinner time, do you want to join us." I ask, giving her a smile. "Yeah I'll meet you in the Great Hall, I just want to clean myself up a bit." She tells me. "Okay see you soon" I reply, walking out of the bathroom and heading to have dinner with my friends.

I march into the great hall and sit at the Gryffindor table next to Alex, just as the food appears on the table. "Where is Hermione?" Alex asks me, looking disappointed. "She said she'd meet us here for dinner, she can't be too far." I tell them, hoping she would actually be here soon. As I'm trying to decide what I'm going to eat, I glace up at Atticus looking straight ahead, making a weird gesture I didn't recognise. Suddenly Alex lets out a roaring laugh making me jump slightly, at least I didn't fall off my chair like Neville did, I think to myself. I turn to see what the fuss was about and notice my brother looking oddly confused and red in the face. BOOM, the sound of thunder is heard, I finally look up and realise the magical celling is portraying the storm outside making it the perfect atmosphere for Halloween.

Suddenly if the bangs of thunder weren't loud the great hall doors burst open and professor Quirrell runs in yelling at the top of his lungs "Troll In The Dungeon!" The enchanted ceiling still thundering loudly. "Troll in the dungeon!" He yelled again,  stopping right behind Alex and I. "I thought you ought to know.." He mutters before passing out, face first on the hard floor with a thud. I giggle to myself at him passing out on the floor, then suddenly realise what he said. Great Scott a troll in the dungeon I say to myself. The students start panicking and getting up from their seats. "SILLLLLEEENNNNCEEEEE!" Dumbledore exclaims rather deafeningly. The room goes silent. "Everyone will please, not panic. Now, Prefects will lead their houses back to the dormitories. Teachers will follow me to the dungeons." He announces, as the prefects begin escorting the houses to their respective commons. Before I'm about to go to with my prefect to the dungeons, "COME WITH ME!" Alex demands, as he grab's me by the collar with his left hand while reaching over the table and grabbing Atticus's with his right. We both nod in agreement and Atticus follows us by literally climbing over the table. "What's going on?" Atticus asks, which is barley heard over all the chatter of panicked students. "Yeah! Are we gonna go fight the troll?" I ask, getting excited. "No, I'll explain when we get there. It's very important." Alex barks in a rather annoyed tone. "Awww" I mutter to myself feeling disappointed. I hear some muttering coming from Alex's mouth but I didn't know what he was saying.
