Cracked Bones and Broken Hearts

Thud!

Crunch!

I groan in  pain as I land amongst the trees somewhere in the Forbidden Forrest, I slowly untangle my aching body out of the tree, by imagining I have wings so I can fly down safely. I retract my wings as I sigh and look around at my surroundings. I have no idea where I am so I walk around aimlessly trying to find my way out. I start to panic as I run around for what seems like hours. I hear a howl in the distance, followed by another and decide to head in that direction. As I  get closer to the direction of the howling, I hear another more wolf like howl not to far away. I lean against a tree to catch my breath and try to calm myself.

But before I can fully calm myself, I hear a growl, in front of me is a long lanky creature with golden eyes and saliva dripping from it's mouth.  This is what we learned about when Snape was teaching Defense Against The Dark Arts.. This is a werewolf. A million things run through my mind as I stand face to face with this creature, and before I can do anything it lunges at me. I feel its claws melting through my shoulder as he pushes me to the ground. I hold my arms out to defend myself, but I only hear the breaking of bones as he bites down onto my right arm and I scream out in pain, my voice echoing throughout the forest. I start to go numb as the wolf tears through me like Draco with his Christmas ham. This is it.. this is how I die.. The world around me grows dark, I can barely see and my hearing is fading, I start to see my life flash before my eyes. Nova.. George.. Draco.. I'm sorry. The last thing I see is the blurry faces of my friends, kneeling above me. Atticus and Alex. "We're here, Astra.." I hear Atti's muffled voice before it all fades to black.

A few hours later I open my eyes, hearing voices around me, well Ron's voice to start. "How did you get there? I was talking to you there... and now you're there..!" "What's he talking about, Harry?" Hermione now speaks. "I don't know." Harry replies. "Honestly, Ron. How can somebody be in two places at once?" Alex says, receiving a chuckle from everyone. "Magic..." I mumble from under my blankets. "Now, shut up and let me sleep..." I mumble again, closing my eyes. All of a sudden, two bodies run over to me giving me the biggest hug ever. I wince in pain as they press on my chest. Opening my eyes once more I realise it's Atti and Alex. I pass out again not long after my friends pull away from the hug.

I'm awoken the next morning by Lupin pacing up and down beside me bed. "Everything okay, Professor." I ask. "Ahh you're awake, I'm not your professor anymore so you can call me Remus." He explains. "Then you can call me Asteria" I tell him with a smile. "Why aren't you a professor anymore, has the cursed Defense Against the Dark Arts position hit again." I add, making Remus chuckle. "I resigned on my own accord actually. When the word gets out that a Werewolf is a teacher things tend to get messy. I came here to apologize for attacking you." He tells me, looking down at his feet. "It's okay I know you weren't yourself. I guess I shouldn't have been out soo late in the first place. I don't hate you for it, I forgive you." I reply, with the sincerest smile on my face. "Thank you Asteria. That means a lot. I will promise to help you with anything you need to help with you're transformations." Remus tells me.

Snape comes to see me the next day in the common room and tells me to meet him in his classroom after dinner one evening so he can teach me how to make a Wolfsbane potion so I can take it whenever there is a full moon. At least while I'm still at school. Remus will help me with the proper transformation in the holiday's.

A few weeks later, I'm talking to Draco and Pansy out in the courtyard when a big group of Gryffindor students come out following Harry with a broom in his hands. "Is that a bloody Firebolt" Draco complains. "Go on Harry!" Ron cheers. "Yeah, let's see!" Atti adds. "How fast is it, Harry?!" Hermione asks. Harry mounts the broom and in a flash, he's gone, zooming through the air and past the clouds. I smile as I see George turn around and gives me a small wave.

This had turned out to be a rather interesting year. I almost died. I became a Werewolf and next year will be even worse if I am to become a Deatheater.

The dreaded time has come, Remus is in my living room on a full moon night and were about to use the floo network to travel to his house, as it will be more safer to transform away from others. His house is not what I expected, its a quaint cottage in Yorkshire. He guides me downstairs to a basement of sorts. I notice lots of scratch marks all over the walls and chains on one side laying on the floor bolted to the ground. Remus shuts the steel enforced door, locking us in for the night. He explained the process and told me it will hurt like hell the first time but gradually get better the more times I transform. "I will put these chains around your feet now." He said, as our transformation was about to start. I don't remember much of that night but I will say it was the most excruciating pain I have ever felt in my life.

About a week before the Quidditch World cup I have a genius thought. I get out of bed, drink my potion because the day of the world cup is a full moon and I have to drink it every day for a week before the full moon, mainly to slow or dull the pain of transforming. I grab my journal from my bedside drawer and start writing to Atti with my green and sliver ink quill. I hope he will agree. 'Atti I have a question?' 'Sure Astra. What can I do for you' appears in blue sparkly ink a few minutes later. 'Can you make another enchanted book for me? Id like to share one with George.' I sigh as I wait patiently for his reply. 'Oh, sure! That's easy. I'll have to get George a journal, but that's not a big deal. I'll only need to place a new enchantment on yours to link with him. That will be the difficult part.'

After a few moments of thinking ways Atti could get here, another message from him appeared in the journal. 'How many fireplaces do you have?' 'Three but the main one is in the living room' 'That's close to where father is right now' I scribble a fast reply. 'Let me know when he's no longer near, I'll pop in for a small visit. He writes. I glance at my clock and scribble a reply. 'In an hour he will be shut in his office.' 'Perfect. See you then.' Atti replies, I smile and shut the journal, thinking of how good it will be to be able to talk to George more often.

'Woosh'

Atti suddenly appears ingulfed in green flames, and emerges from the fireplace. I had decided it was a good idea to meet him in the living room and show him to my room. He's wearing grey jeans with a black turtle neck and black boots. And of course a long blue cloak. "Atti!" I greet him in a whisper, pulling him into a quick hug. "Hey Astra." He replies with a smile before pulling his wand out from his boot. "We've got to do this quick, who knows when father or Draco might turn up" I speak quietly, as I hand him my journal. "The magic won't work until he writes his name in the journal, all right?" He tells me waving his wand over the journal now in his hands. After a few seconds of silence, footsteps are heard approaching. "Bollocks." Atti mutters, quickly my journal back. "Grey? The hell are you doing here?" He asks, taking a bite from a green apple. I see Atti smirk. "Enjoying that?" He asks. Draco looks down at the apple, then back up at Atti. "It was YOU!" He exclaims. Atti grins and gives a cheeky wave before escaping back through the green flames in the fireplace. Draco look at me with his evil glare, knowing I told my friends about him loving green apples. I let out a snort and shrug my shoulders, heading back upstairs to my room.
