(Lily's POV)
"Delilah, do you have a crush on Kavina?"
"Huh?" She looked at me flustered and the lights began flickering. I nodded seeing the truth for my own eyes.
"You should just tell her instead of getting jealous of us holding hands. And by the way, I have someone I'm with and he isn't Kavina."
"I wasn't jealous! Why would I be jealous of you?"
"Because I'm close enough to your crush where I can hold her hands and hug her. She comes to my house and I go to hers. On top of that, it seems your magic is tied to your emotions as well and I recognize when something happens that is caused by magic since I've been there and done it." She became red when I mentioned going to Kavina's house. I sat back relaxed and unfazed by her mood. "On top of all that, yesterday was the first time I held her hand at school and then suddenly the light above us blew. Not a coincidence. If I wasn't me, Kavina would have been hurt because of you. I suggest that you just confess your feelings and either get them accepted or rejected. If not, I can just tell her."
"No!" She stood up and slammed her hands on the table.
"Delilah." Agatha tried to chide her but she wasn't listening. She only had eyes for me right now and they were blazing with fear, embarrassment, and anger.
"No you will not!" I narrowed my eyes at her.
"I wasn't asking sweetie. I'm telling you. And you need to apologize to her and her family and to me. Kavina and I almost got hurt and in trouble because her mom at first thought it was one of us since we are still learning control, mine being better than Kavina's. On top of that, you ran the risk of them having to leave if the situation caught the attention of a hunter." That made her and Agatha blanch. "Yeah. I guess you forgot about that."
"Wait, Kavina is a witch too? And I almost made them have to move?" I nodded curtly. She sat back down in her chair looking slightly defeated. We were all quiet for a moment. Even the three upstairs were silent. "Alright. I will apologize. Can you ask her mom to send her to school tomorrow?"
"I'll think about it. I have to make sure it's safe for my bestie to come back first." She swallowed hard and nodded.
"Also, I'm sorry Lily. I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I didn't even know that you two were one of us." I smiled.
"We hide it well. Now that everything is settled, I'm curious now." I looked at Agatha. "How did you end up adopting a witch and three children of the moon pups?"
"So you know that too." I nodded. "Delilah is actually my girlfriends daughter. Her mom passed away last year and I have no idea who her dad is. Not that I would give her to him even if I did know." She smiled sadly and hugged Delilah to her side. "The other three I came across in my travels. I travel a lot for work." I nodded knowing not to pry to much. I've learned to give people privacy as long as it wasn't something potentially harmful.
"Well, we must be on our way now. I have other things that need my attention. I only came to confront Delilah about her feelings for my friend and demand an apology from her. I really must make sure no hunters know that this was related to witch's. I'm moving soon but I don't want to leave Kavina and her family to the wolves so to speak."
"I'm sorry my daughter caused such a problem."
"It's fine. We're young and were given access to such powers that we are still learning to control. It would be wrong of me to hold it against her when I'm guilty of the same crime. I'll see you at school tomorrow Delilah." She smiled shyly at me and waved.
"See you at school tomorrow Lily." After Alice and I were safely back in her car, I phased and curled up on her front passenger seat. She scratched me behind my ear.
"All right then. Rest up. We'll be home in no time." I nodded my head and took a nap.
