Chapter 8: Our First Day As Worry Warts

(Alice's POV)

Me and Edward were going in and out of shops that I liked visiting when in Italy. He wasn't having as much fun as I was. Jasper was busy getting something for me. He won't make up his mind! He is probably doing that on purpose so I don't get a peek at what he is getting me. I wonder what the occasion is? "Hmm."

"Alice. You can't possibly be that oblivious. It's your anniversary with Jasper tomorrow." Holy shit! He was right! Damn. I hate it when he's right. I have to go shopping. "Say no more Alice. Besides, I already have more than enough to take back to my room."

"Thank you Edward. You're the best brother this shopping addict ever had." I gave him a quick hug and left to get a little surprise for my Jazzy.

(Esme's POV)

"Daddy, hurry up! Me and mommy are going to leave you!" It was so adorable when she calls me mommy. Carlisle didn't seem to mind her calling him daddy. He was really happy about it too. I didn't need to be Jasper to know it. It was mostly because Lily told me as she got dressed. Also it showed on his face. We decided to take Carlisle's Mercedes. I didn't want to use anyone else's car anymore. I might get my own soon. "Hurry, hurry daddy."

"Alright. Here I am. How are you this morning Princess?"

"I am good. Thank you for asking. You can call me Lily you know. Lily Annabelle Cullen. Mommy likes my name. I like it as well."

"Well I love it." He looked at me. "Where to first?"

"Children's clothing stores. Lily needs a new wardrobe before Alice comes home. Then we need to go to IKEA and Home Depot to get her some furniture and paint for her new room. Then to the bank to get her Cullen bank card. Her birth certificate says she's five. We also have to fit some lunch into this." Carlisle chuckled. Lily giggled a little.

"Okay mommy. Let's go!" She was eager to start the day it seems. I just hope we get to keep her forever. I feel that our family is now complete with her. And if Aro was right, she will make Edward happy.

"You will mommy. Plus, great grandpa Aro is right. I can see it. You don't have to worry." Carlisle looked confused. I just laughed a little.

"You're a powerful little girl aren't you?" She just smiled gleefully and nodded. We went everywhere that we needed to go. The shopping we did would make Alice proud. We got her a lobster pizza from Red Lobster and got her a banana milkshake from Checkers. It wasn't a meal I approved but most of the things she can eat have to be prepared at home. I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow.

When we got back home, Lily taught me how to prepare her blood. She drank it afterwards. I didn't think she would want her blood warmed this morning. She also ate two strawberry jam sandwiches, went to Edward's room to take a nap. She is a sweet little angel. I wonder how anyone could abandon such a sweet girl.

(Edward's POV)

After Alice left, I brought my things back to my room and went to go hunt. I had just finished my third buck when I noticed someone behind me. It was Jane. She wanted to talk to me about Lily. That surprised me a bit. "Yes Jane?"

"Walk with me." As we walked, I couldn't help but compare her to Lily. They both had innocent and pure voices. And although Jane has more years, Lily seemed more wise. "What do you want with my niece? She had been acting strange and secretive since you first arrived. Then she runs into your arms after you two lock gazes." It was midnight so there was no possibility of a sober human interruption. But time did nothing for the interruption of my phone. "Answer it." I did.

"Hello?"

"Eddie, put me on speaker." It was Lily. She sounded tired but according to what Esme told me during her nap, they went shopping. "Jane stop bullying Edward. He is my mate aunty Jane. I love him. Now apologize to him or I'm calling great grandpa Aro." She paused for a second. Then she yelled. "NOW JANE!"

"I'm sorry Edward. My apologies Princess."

"Thank you. Edward, you, Alice, and Jasper need to be home in by next week. The Denali clan is coming. Rosalie and Emmett will be back here in two days." Dear god. I need to leave sooner or Emmett might corrupt my precious Lily. "Goodnight Jane. Goodnight Edward."

"Goodnight Princess." Then Jane ran off.

"Goodnight, Lily." I smiled as I hung up. I adored her with all my non beating heart and I'll be damned if Emmett corrupts that pure heart of hers. I went back to my room and started packing. On my way to the airport, I stopped by a glass figurine store that Alice liked. I bought a glass lily, glass heart, and a glass wolf. Then I also got her some music and two charm bracelets and made sure everything was wrapped. I sent Alice a text letting her know about the Denali coven. I am not excited about seeing Tanya.
