Lily Annabelle Cullen: A What If Story

Chapter 4: Busy Day Today

(Edward's POV)

          I was watching a movie when Alice came in. "I need you to explain exactly why you are not coming with us today!" She looked pissed.

          "Shouldn't you know already? Plus Alice, we have the whole rest of the summer. What's the big deal?" She rolled her eyes.

         "The big deal, Edward, is that we have been summoned by the Volturi for something that I can't see! We have to see them in two weeks or less if Rose drives as fast as I see her driving and the Volturi find out we're all here before the two weeks are up. We might have to leave early! Do you know anything about this?"

         "No. How about this. I meet up with you two after three in the afternoon."

         "Alright." She walked out getting out her phone and was a little less tense than earlier. I was happy about that. It was less than six hours that I met the love of my life. She wanted to see me. She loves me even though I'm a monster. It's just so weird that the Volturi would want to see us after I met her.

         "Who is it Edward?" My head snapped up to see Jasper standing in my door.

          "Where's Alice?"

          "Outside planning something with Rose's and Emmett's travel agent. Who is she Edward? Your mate, I mean."

          "How do you know about that?"

          "I can feel your emotions all the way in the next room. I won't tell Alice but you have to be honest with me." I nodded and told him what happened.

(Rosalie's POV)

          Emmett and I were all snuggled up with each other in the forest not far from our house. Emmett suggested that we watch the stars tonight. He can be such a child some times, but he's my child. Child. What I have always wanted but will never get the chance to have one. I heard a phone vibrating. After a while, it got annoying. "Emmett. Get the phone!"

          "Gez babe. Chill out. I'll get it." I swear, he may think it's funny but it won't be if I don't give him what he wants for the next decade. "Hello? Carlisle?" Carlisle? What could he possibly want with us right now? "Yeah. What?! Okay. When? Will Alice, Jasper, and Edward be there as well? Okay. Yeah, I'll tell her. We will. Yeah you too. Bye." He looked at me sadly for a while. The he got excited.

         "What is it Emmett?" He was lit up like a kid on Christmas.

         "Carlisle and Esme have chosen us to represent the Olympic Coven in front of the Volturi. They have something important to give us."

          "Explain to me why this makes you happy. I fail to see your logic. I mean, I really don't see how this is a good thing. We have to see the Volturi. What the hell?"

           "Babe. Listen. They are giving us something important. Carlisle said that Aro didn't sound hostile on the phone. Come on. We have to pack." I got up reluctantly and followed him back to our house. Our trip will take two weeks, I hope. I want to drive to the coast. I wonder what they want to give us that's so important.

(Lily's POV)

            I woke up at 11:20 to Renata running my bath. My stupid alarm clock is broken. I'll get Felix to fix it. "Jane is still getting your outfit together and ready. She will be in when you are finished."

          "Okay. Can you tell Felix I need him to fix my alarm clock? Can you also fix me a cup of blood? And some to go lunch."

          "Of course princess. Anything special?"

          "No. Just some blood and strawberry jam sandwiches."

          "Okay." She left thinking of how often I eat strawberry jam sandwiches. As I got into the tub, Afton walked in.

          "I was sent in to make sure you stay safe." He was nervous. He has never had any alone time with me. Also I was naked in a tub of water and bubbles.

          "Turn around. I don't want you to see me bathe."

          "Yes princess." He faced the door. While I bathed, I read his mind. 'Aro doesn't approve of her going to stay with the Cullen's yet he is still letting her go! I don't understand.'

           "You don't have to understand. This is a matter between me, Aro, Caius, and Marcus. I highly suggest that you mind your own business. If you question the brothers decision again, I will report you."

           "Yes princess. My apologies." He kept his thoughts clean after that. At 11:30, Jane came in and traded places with Afton. I got out and put on my bath robe. She drained the water and helped me get dressed. She picked out a deep purple sundress with a deep purple headband and black sandles. As she did my hair, I changed my hair color to black. My natural hair color is pink but I can change it to whatever color I want.

            "Your breakfast and to go bag is on the table. Please take a backpack." I thought about it for a little while.

            "Okay. Go get Pikachu and bring it to the dinning hall." She bowed and left. As I walked to the dinning hall, I had a vision. Rosalie and Emmett would arrive in two days. Apparently Rosalie drove faster than she thought she would. When I came back to reality, I was being carried by Demetri.

          "You had another vision huh?" I nodded. "You still going out alone?" I nodded again. "What is it that I have to tell Aro?" He knew me all to well.

         "Tell Aro That Rosalie and Emmett Cullen will be here in two days." He nodded, left me in the dinning hall, and went to tell Aro the news. Jane came in two minutes later with my morning blood. "Thank you Jane."

          "Your welcome princess." She packed my bag and walked me to the door. As we walked, I wondered what would happen while I was out. Then I remembered something from earlier.

          "Jane. I want you and Alec to keep a close eye on Afton. He was questioning the choice of Aro, Caius, and Marcus." She understood what I was asking for her and her brother to do.

         "Yes princess." She gave me a hug and saw me off. As I ran to my tree, I wondered what was going to be done with the information I have provided.

(Edward's POV)

           After Jasper left, I actually felt better. I didn't tell him everything of course but I told him enough where he is satisfied. He and Alice left around 10 this morning. Around 11 I went to take a shower. I wanted to know how she got mixed up into the Volturi so young. When I got out, I looked at my phone and saw that I had 2 text messages. One was from Alice saying that our Volturi appointment has been moved up. It was now in two days. The other was from a phone that I didn't recognize. I started to put my phone down but something was compelling me to look at the message. As I read it, questions swelled up in my head.

        Who was this person? How did they end up with my number? The phone signature said Volturi Princess. As far as I knew, they didn't have a princess. I decided to wear a plain white button up and a pair of blue jeans. Before I left, I grabbed the picnic blanket that I bought last night. It was 11:50 when I finally left. I was running through the forest when the puzzle finally fit together. The Volturi princess was Lily. Why else would she be able to whatever she wanted to do. The message said that she wanted to go to the bookstore after lunch. I was about to reply but didn't because she was sitting in the tree waiting for me.
