Marcbeth (Act |)

It was a warm, sunny Friday in Echo Creek and Star and Marco were walking to school as usual.

"No, Star. You can't make an extra small dime by putting it in the microwave" Marco said pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Well, this video said you could! See!"

Star showed Marco the video of a guy putting the dime in the microwave and the next frame shows him with a much smaller version of the coin.

"Star. Who sent you that video? It's obviously fake"

"Janna. What do you mean it's fake?"

Marco sighs.

"Of course it's Janna. If you put a dime or any metal in the microwave it'll explode. I really should have taught you this"

"Pffft. Whatever. C'mon we gotta get to English!"

"Great. Now we have English. Perfect"

"Hey! I like English! I especially like the story about the guy who becomes a king and kills loads of people because it reminds me of home.."

"You mean Macbeth?"

"Yeah!"

"If you liked Macbeth so much Star, I'm surprised you didn't even know the title of the book"

"Hey! I like the book okay! Jeez you don't have to rain on my carnival"

"It's parad-"

"Let's to go English!"

The pair ran towards their class and got in just before they were marked as late.

"Marco. Star. Glad to see you on time for once" Mrs Skullnick bellowed.

As much as Marco hated to admit it. Star's 'shenanigans'  made him late to classes more often.

"Yeah... We ran this time"

"Whatever"  She sighed.

"Okay, class. I have a 'special' announcement"

Everyone went silent.

"Principal Skeeves wants us to reenact the play which we have just finished, Macbeth so he can have a fundraiser for... Uh...Charity?"

Most of the class, apart from a few, were happy about this. But It meant a lot of rehearsal was needed. Star was ecstatic about the news.

"You hear that Marco!? A school play!"

"Oh. No way this is happening. Nuh-uh. Nope"

"It is Marco. Great right?"

"No! Not great! This means we gotta rehearse get costumes and all that junk! It sucks!"

"So? In the end it's all good fun!"

"UUUGHHHH"

Marco slammed his head into the desk loudly. Unfortunately for him, Mrs Skullnick heard the slam loud and clear.

"Thank you, Marco Diaz for auditioning to play as Macbeth!"

"WHAT?!"

The class sniggered quietly. Marco was in disbelief.

"I won't be able to remember all the lines! Pick someone else!"

"You'll learn the lines, Marco. Now class, if you want to audition as a character, please write them down on the sheet at the front desk"
