"Okay, Class. I hope you were all paying attention this term because there is a big test coming up soon and I expect everyone to get an A+" Mrs Skullnick bellowed.

History. Oh how Star hated history. It was just super boring. Especially the Cold War.

"Where is the fighting? Where is the bloodshed?!" She'd asked Marco.

"Well, if there was 'fighting and bloodshed' then I wouldn't be talking to you right now. We'd all be dead. Nuke go boom" He explained in Layman's Terms.

Star couldn't really argue with that. But it didn't stop history from being boring.

Well, maybe there was some good to come of boringness of The Cold War. Marco wasn't dead, and she wouldn't know what to do without Marco. They'd been best friends for a long time now. Man, she loved him loads. She just wanted to-

Star jolted up quickly and loudly, alerting the whole class. She turned bright pink from her thoughts and the sudden amount of attention.

"Is there anything you'd like to say about the Cuban Missile Crisis, Star?" Mrs Skullnick responded to Star's rude interruption.

"Oh- nothing! Nothing! Go on" She said quickly to move the attention away from her.

That was weird. She'd never thought of Marco in that way before. It was a very predicament.

"Alright, Star! Get it together! Stop thinking about Marco and start thinking about the- Cuban Missile Crisis?"

She honestly had no idea what was going on.

Luckily for her, the bell rang before Ms Skullnick could ask them any questions.

As Star and Marco walked out of the classroom, Marco turned to her.

"So, Star. What did we learn about today?" He asked her.

He always does this. He asks her about the lesson to make sure she understood what they had learnt. It was, cute actually.

No, Star! Don't think like that! Don't think about his deep, brown eyes or his muscular physique! Think about weapons of mass destruction! Yeah!

"Well, we learned about the Cuban Missile Crisis!" Star managed.

"Mhm, yeah, good. And what was it about?"

"Well, it was..."

Oh no. She had no clue.

"It was about- uh... a crisis involving missiles and Cuba?" Star said vaguely.

"Well, you're right. But can you tell me about the Bay of Pigs?" Marco followed up.

Oh no. Now she was done.

"Since when did pigs come into this?!" Star said like a madwoman.

"Star?" Marco asked sceptically.

"Yeah?" Star said, sweating.

"Did you learn a single thing in that lesson?" He asked.

Marco was now staring her deep in her eyes. Wow, his eyes were gorgeous.

Oh no! Star! Not now!

"Okay fine! You got me! I had no clue what was going on! I had other things on my mind..."

The 'other things' on her mind was just Marco, to put it simply.

"You did now? It's fine. I can just teach you the basics we learned tonight. It's Friday after all we can just stay up late I suppose"

Gulp. Her and Marco? Late at night? Studying? Being normal people?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
Calm down, Star Jeez! You hang out all the time! What's the big deal?

"The big deal is that I like him now, okay! I admit it! I'm not gonna just stand here in denial!" She said in her head.

Whatever. It's one night! You'll be fine!

"I hope you're right" she said internally.

...

Star and Marco trudged through the door tiredly.

"URGH! I'm so tired!" Star moaned.

"I know, Star. But we gotta make time to make sure you know what you're doing or you're gonna get an F" Marco responded.

"Fine!" Star said, defeated.

The two went upstairs and into Star's room.

"Alright, Star. Time to learn about...

History!✨"

Star groaned but secretly she found it adorable that Marco had such a keen interest in history.

"So basically, there's these guys right? And they start a revolution in Cuba and-"

Zzzzzz.

"Star?! You with me?" Marco asked.

"Yeah I'm here!" Star said quickly.

"And basically they had this revolution, and it was like-"

Zzzzzz.

"Star you're not paying attention again"

"I'm sorry okay! Its just, History is boring okay?"

"No way! History is fun! You just gotta listen and pay attention"

"Okay, Marco, I'll listen! But can you at least make me some snacks if you're gonna make me do this?"

"Alright fine but you gotta listen okay?" Marco said as he stood up from his chair.

"Okay" Star replied.

"Also can you at least read this page?" Marco said as he pulled out a history book.

Star looked down at the page and back at Marco.her

"I ain't reading allat" she responded simply.

Marco rolled his eyes, walked downstairs and began preparing nachos. Star saw this as an opportunity to write in her diary. She snuck into the secrets closet and pulled in out under the massive pile of junk.

Dear diary,

I'm stuck here doing history work with Marco because I 'wasn't paying attention' in class. Sure, I hate it, but I don't mind because it's Marco who's teaching me. I don't know why, but my feelings for him have changed. At first I saw him as just my best friend but recently he's been... different for me. He looks a lot more charming, handsome and well overall he's kinda hot and I-

Marco walked in with a hot plate of nachos. Star quickly slammed her diary shut and blushed violently.

"Whatcha doin Star?" He asked jokingly.

"NOTHING! NOTHING!" She said quickly.

"Oh, really? Cuz it almost seems like your writing in your diary" Marco joked.

"YEAH I AM, DINGUS. WHAT ABOUT IT?" She said embarrassed.

"Okok calm down! I was just teasing. Let's get back to work"

Star stood up and hid her journal in her secrets closet. She then sat down next to Marco and tried to digest what he was telling her.

...

After a while of studying, Star finally nodded off. Marco looked at his shoulder and saw the girl lying on it for comfort. Marco blushed quickly and picked her up bridal style and placed her on her bed. He pulled the blanket over her and turned off her light.

"Buenas noches, mi amor" he whispered as he left her room.

...

Star smiled and blushed. She understood him.
