Starco Oneshots

Conflict.

"But why!? Why are you even here, Marco!!?"

"I just thought that..."

"No. Go home. You can be here!"

Marco stared at Star, very hurt by what she said. Marco had decided to come back to Mewni to confess his feelings for Star and stay there with her, But she had already rebounded onto Tom and it seemed that she hated him. He probably shouldn't have even come back to Mewni in the first place.

"I thought you cared about me," Marco said quietly.

"I did. But you gotta understand I have new duties now, Marco. I'm sorry. You have to leave"

"I understand. Bye Star" Marco said as he left.

He walked through the portal and after a few seconds, his dimensional scissors came out.

Star felt really guilty. Yeah, Marco had arrived unannounced. But she was just cruel towards him. He didn't deserve that. Secretly, she was so angry because she had just about almost gotten over him and was ready to move on. But he had to show up and ignite the flame again, didn't he?

"Star, what was that?" Tom asked as he walked in.

"Oh, nothing"

"It wasn't nothing, Star. I heard Marco talking. What were you arguing about?"

"Nothing! Seriously!" Star said nervously.

"Star. If you want this to work, we have to be honest with each other"

"Okay. I was angry because Marco decided that he wanted to come and live here with me"

"What?"

"Yeah. My dad said he could but obviously, he has people at home..."

"Why were you so angry about it, Star?"

"I just... I don't know, okay?"

"You need to apologise, I think"

"Yeah... I do..."

"Look, he gave you his scissors"

"..."

"I feel really guilty. Why did I shout at him?"

"It's okay, Star. You got angry. It happens"

Star sighs.

Marco lies down on his bed and started at the popcorn ceiling. He tried to look for all the funny things Star spotted.

"Look! It's an octopus wearing a chef hat!" Star said happily.

"What? I don't see it"

"Silly. You have to be imaginative"

He was reminiscing again. He missed when things were simple. Easy. He missed having fun, mostly.

There was a ripping noise. It was Star. She had his scissors.

"Star?" Marco said surprised.

Star sat at the foot of Marco's bed and sighed

"Marco. I'm sorry. I lashed out at you and I'm sorry. I know it's been a while since we last spoke, but you have to understand I am now in training to be the next queen of Mewni. It is very time-consuming"

"If its time consuming how do you have time to eat burritos with Tom?"Marco asked.

Admittedly, it was a stupid question. Of course, Star would have time to eat. Marco was just angry it wasn't him she wanted to spend time with.

"I have time to eat with my boyfriend, Marco"

"Did you ever even mean what you said?" Marco asked out of the blue.

"S-Sorry?"

"You said you liked me, Star. Were you lying or not?"

"I-I what?"

"You say you like me but then you immediately start dating Tom when I'm out of the picture! You never cared, did you?" Marco said angrily.

"Of course I did I just-"

"No, Star! Do you even know what I did just to be there with you? I broke up with Jackie, and I said goodbye to everyone I know, including my parents, to be with you! I thought we could actually work! But no, of course! I get the girl of my dreams after years and now I'm chasing another girl who clearly doesn't even care about me! Just my luck!"

Star was very shocked. She didn't know Marco felt the same way as she did a long time ago.

"Marco I didn't think you actually-"

"I do, okay!" he said blushing.

...

"It's too late now anyway. Goodbye Star. Maybe in another life" he said looking away from her.

Star looked down and stood up. She opened a portal and threw Marco's dimensional scissors on his bed.

"Goodbye, Marco"

"..."

Star walked through the portal and saw Tom waiting for her on her bed. When she saw him she started crying and hugged him tightly.

"I-I messed things up bad, Tom!"

"What do you mean?"

"I hurt Marco and I didn't even realise what he did to try and be with me! He ditched his whole life! For me!"

"H-He likes you, doesn't he?"

"H-He does"

"Then go Star. Leave this place and be with him"

"W-What?"

"It's fine, Star. I've seen how you look at each other before. It's more than what we have. I shouldn't have let you start dating me because I knew for sure you still liked him. I was just eager. And being Queen, Star, isn't you. Sure, you'll be The Queen of Mewni one day, but you'll be your own Queen. You won't follow books or anything. You'll just be you"

"Wow, I-"

"He's waiting for you, Star. Go" Tom said sadly.

"Thank you, Tom. I'll never forget this"

Star quickly got a spare pair of scissors and ran into Marco's room.

"ARGH! Star? What are you doing back here?" Marco screamed.

"Listen. I know you don't like me right now. But-"

Star leaned in and kissed Marco right on the mouth. When she pulled away Marco looked shocked.

"B-But Star! You're with Tom!"

"It's okay. He let me leave to be with you. And he told me some good advice. He said I'd be my own queen, so there's no need to train to become a boring one. I wanna live here with you, Marco! I want to be with you! I know I made out that I didn't care anymore but I do! I was lying to myself because I didn't think you liked me the way I like you, but now we know how we feel and we can go forward together!"

"Wow, Star- I"

"So can I, Marco, please?"

"Of course, Star! I'm so happy I could cry!"

"I guess that makes you my boyfriend, huh?"

"I suppose it does"

Star and Marco hugged tightly and smiled. They were happy.
