Marco's Job

"Oh. No way!" Marco said angrily.

"What? It's important to maintain a healthy relationship between our kingdoms, Marco" Star responded.

"But... But Prince Spiderbite is a creep. He's always giving you the oogly eyes!"

"Marco. Even so, you know that my heart belongs to you" She whispered as he hugged him.

Marco sighs.

"It's not right. I hate keeping this a secret. I just want to tell everyone on this planet how I feel about you" He whispered.

"Me too, Marco. But for now, you have to only be my squire. My parents will hopefully warm up to you..."

"I'm tired of this. But okay. If it means we can be together"

"Now, will you be my protection to this peace conference?"

"Fine. But only to keep that creep away from you"

"Thank you, my prince" Star said quietly.

"Whatever" Marco replied blushing.

The pair went to bed to get good rest for tomorrow. They were going to a conference with the Spiderbite Kingdom to establish peace (hopefully)

The next day came and Star and Marco got ready. Star was wearing a big puffy dress as per tradition and Marco was wearing armour, as he was her escort.

"I gotta say, Marco. You look very handsome in your suit of armour" Star said jokingly.

"Oh, stop it" he joked.

Moon and River have funny looks.

"Now Star. No shenanigans while we're there. If you mess up it'll probably leave a bad taste in King and Queen Spiderbite's mouths. And we don't want war, do we?" Moon lectured.

"No mom," Star said boringly.

They all got into the carriage towed by a warnicorn and set off towards the Spiderbite Kingdom.

Once they arrived, Marco helped Star off the carriage like a gentleman and Moon and River went ahead to greet the Spiderbite Family.

"I didn't get to say it, but I think you look very pretty, Star" Marco whispered.

"Shhhhhh" Star said as Prince Spiderbite walked up to her. Marco stood to attention and held his spear to his side.

"Hello, Princess. It's a pleasure. I must say, you look amazing today" Prince Spiderbite complimented.

"Oh, thank you" She replied.

Marco began to grip his spear more firmly. This was going to be harder than expected.

"May I?" the Prince said as he outstretched his hand to take hers.

"Uuuhhhh" Star said as she looked over at Marco. It looked like the spear he was holding was about to snap.

"Of course," she said, gritting her teeth.

The prince and Star walked up the stairs to the castle hand in hand as Marco followed.

"So, are you into anything, your Majesty?" Star asked.

"Please, just call me Azure. You know my name"

"Okay, Azure. Are you into anything in particular?"

"Well, I'm into horse riding, cooking, and quite frankly, you"

CRACK! There was a snapping sound, Marco had actually snapped his metal spear. It was in two pieces.

"Great! Look at what your clumsy squire has done now! He's as incompetent as the last time I saw him" Azure said angrily.
