'Mew' Man AU - Marco's Notes

It had been a few months since Star had moved in. Ever since she came, Marco has been very intrigued with her. She... looked human... only she had cat-like ears protruding out of her head, she had claws she could retract and she seemed to also have a tail she'd hide. Everything about her was the same, however. She claimed she came from Mewni, and was a princess there. Marco chuckled. He got it now. 'Mew'ni. Marco had documented basically everything about Star and Mewmans carefully in his notepad. Luckily for him, these 'Mewmans' didn't seem to exhibit most weird cat behaviour, like licking themselves. However, Star did bring him a dead pigeon one time as a 'Token of their friendship' Gross. Sometimes, Star would sneak into Marco's room and curl up into a ball at the foot of his bed. Marco didn't mind, of course. After all, it was adding more facts and info to his little research notebook, which was filled with doodles of Star and facts about her. Star also had a wand she'd use to beat up monsters who came for it. This girl seemed to intrigue Marco, even more, each day...

"Heya Marco! Whatcha thinking about?" Star interrupted his thought train.

"Oh... nothing..." he whispered.

"Oh, C'mon. Sure you are! What's going on up there, Diaz?"

"Well... you, frankly. I'm just amazed how a girl can look human but... have cat-like features"

Star blushed a little. She found it flattering he was thinking about her so much.

"Yeah... well... if you're so intrigued, why not ask me some questions? Don't be shy, bestie! I wanna help you!"

"Okay? Well... for starters, do you have... fangs?" Marco asked.

"Yeah! I sure do!" Star said as she lifted her lips to show off her sharp incisors.

"Okay... how do you wear clothes with your tail?"

"Well... that's why I mainly wear dresses, but for other clothes, I usually cut a hole. Clothes on Mewni come with built-in holes though, of course"

"Okay... interesting..." Marco said as he wrote it down on his notepad.

"Last question. Do you... purr?" Marco asked.

"Do I- what?"

"Do you purr? Like... if someone pats you?"

"Uhhh... yes. Yes I do" Star admitted

"Can... I pet you?" Marco asked.

"W-What?" Star asked blushing.

"Can I pet you?

Star looked a little shocked at this.

"Marco... on Mewni that's a sign of close affection..." she sputtered.

"Hey! We're besties! Are we not as close as I think?" Marco asked sadly.

"Nono! It's just- urgh! Fine!" Star responded.

"So... can I?"

"I-I said fine, didn't I dummy!? J-Just do it and don't say a word..." Star scolded bashfully.

Marco beamed happily as Star sat beside him. Marco lifted his hand and began to pat Star's head. Star looked like she was about to explode from the redness but tried to keep an unimpressed face. Finally, after trying to stop herself, she began purring.

"T-This is so embarrassing..." Star stuttered, her face still trying to maintain its unimpressed look.

"Hey! I think it's absolutely adorable..." Marco laughed.

Star tried to cool herself down after Marco said that but ended up looking like a tomato.

"O-Okay... T-That's enough human boy..." She whimpered.
