Marcbeth (Act ||)

Star and Marco walked into the house laughing. Star went upstairs to go do whatever, leaving Marco with his Mom.

"Hi, sweetie! How was school?"

"Bad"

"Why?"

"Well, I was cast to be Macbeth in the school play. But I won't remember the words"

"No way! My handsome boy is the main character in the school play! I'm so proud!"

"Mehhh"

I'm sure you'll do fine, Marco. You probably don't have to remember all the words, just the important ones"

"I hope so"

"Is Star in the play?"

"Yeah..."

"Who is she?"

Marco took a deep breath in.

"S-She's... Lady Macbeth"

"Awwww, she's your wife?"

"Yeah.. it'll be weird though..."

"It won't. It's just a play Marco"

"I guess," Marco said as he went upstairs.

As he walked by the bathroom, he heard Star showering. Then he thought of an idea. It was, of course, very stupid and only prevented the inevitable, but he was gonna remove the kissing part on her extract. He was just gonna Tippex over it so they didn't have to... y'know. Star had always been very passionate about the arts and she definitely wouldn't leave out any directions. So asking her not to follow the instructions was a no-go.

Marco snuck into her room and found her bag. He opened it and took out the extract. He began applying the Tippex and sneakily put her extract and her bag all back where it was. He was feeling pretty proud of himself until...

Star walked in. Uh oh.

"Marco... what are you doing in here?"

"Uuuuuhhhh. Nothing? I came in here to ask if you wanted to rehearse our lines for the play?"

"Oh, okay! Glad to see you're finally getting into the spirit of drama

"Yeah... I'll be right back"

Phew. That was a close shave. But luckily Marco made it out alive...

The next day was a Friday so Star and Marco were just relaxing in the sun and having a good time.

"So, Star. Any plans for today?"

"Yep! Me and you are gonna get our costumes from Mewni. It won't take long for you to find a chest plate there and I'll just wear a plain dress"

"Riiiight. When do you want to go?"

"Uh, I don't know. Now maybe?"

"Yeah sure. Let's just get over with it so I can get back to lying In the sun"

Star and Marco walked through the portal to Mewni and entered the Butterfly castle. There, they made their way to the throne room where Queen Moon and River were sitting.

"Hi, mom! Hi dad!"

"What did you do this time, Star?" They said in unison.

"What? Nothing!.. yet"

"What is the purpose of your visit, then?"

"We need a certified Mewman chest plate for Marco here!"

"I see.. so Marco is finally deciding to use his fighting spirit to do some good in this kingdom! Well done!" River shouted

"Nono! It's for the school play! I don't want Marco to die, thanks"

"Oh... right. There's one right here. Take it"

"Thanks, dad! Love you guys byebyebyebye!" Star shouted as she and Marco walked through the portal.

"All right! Look at this thing, Marco! Try it on!"

"Uh... okay?" Marco said as he put on the armour.

"Wow! You really do look like some brave knight of Mewni..." Star said, entranced.

"Riiight. What about you?"

"Oh, of course! We can get the dress here. The old human dresses are very different to Mewman's old dresses"

"How so?"

"Usually old Mewman dresses were made out of knives..."

"What?"

"Crazy, right? Let's go buy a dress!"

Marco sighs loudly and opens another portal with his dimensional scissors. The pair walk through the portal and end up at the mall.

"Great... more things I can waste my money on for you"

"C'mon Marco. We're only here to find a cool old-timey dress I can wear. Let's try the costume shop!"

"Okay..."

The pair made their way through the mall, stopping to see all the cool stuff in the windows of all the stores.

"Check it out, Marco! A huge unicorn pillow! Isn't that cool?"

"Wow... also very expensive. Maybe for your birthday"

The two finally made their way to the costume shop. The shop was very dark and spooky. The corners of the shop were covered in cobwebs and the mood was very eerie.

"Wow... it looks cool in here! Look at all the stuff you can dress up as!"

"Yeah yeah... let's just hurry up and grab the costume and get out of here. It creeps me out for some reason..."

Star and Marco finally found the old-timey dress they were looking for and made their way to the shopkeeper to pay.

"Crap... I forgot my money!"

"Seriously Star? You go shopping without money?"

"I left it at home, okay?"

"It's fine... I'll pay"

"Awwwee, thanks, Marco. How much you got?"

"Eeeehhh, like $650"

"Those Turdina merch royalties come in handy eh?"

"Yeah. It's kinda weird seeing me in a dress as a fully pose-able action figure, though"

Marco paid for the dress and Star and Marco went to sit down on a bench.

"This dress looks great! It's gonna be so fun doing the play!"

"Ehhh" Marco replied.

"Oh come on Marco! It isn't that bad! I'm sure"

"Meh. it's kinda just meh"

"You wanna go get a drink? Boba maybe?"

"Absolutely"

After the pair got their bobas they went back to the bench they were sitting at and began talking again. Eventually, Jackie showed up.

"Hey Star, hey Marco. Woah. I didn't know you guys were dating"

"Huh?!" They replied in unison.

"What? It's cool if you guys are I-"

"We're not dating. Where the heck did you get that from!?"

"I don't know. You guys just kinda look cute together. You should start dating"

Marco sighs loudly.

"Everyone says we should start dating. It happens all the time"

"That just further proves my point. I gotta go. See you guys!"

"Bye..."

Star and Marco looked at each other as Jackie skated off.

"Why does everyone say that?!" She sighed.

"I don't know. I suppose it's only natural. I just can't have a female best friend"

"Let's go home. I'm tired"
