We waited patiently as Zeus commanded the attention of the temple
"Everyone. I have gathered you here today to announce a love found. And a celebration" he smiled
Before gesturing to Eros and Psyche to step forth

"Eros has taken a wife. A very beautiful wife at that. And we are to accept them, embrace them, welcome them with open arms" he reeled off with a smile
Whilst Aphrodite stood to the side with her arms crossed in defiance

"I have also blessed Psyche to become one of us. An immortal. So that Eros may never lose this precious love he has found... without the interference of his mother" he said, embarrassing Aphrodite in front of everyone

"Not here" Aphrodite mumbled
As Psyche's eyes found me in the crowd and she offered me a smile. I gave her one back
Out of friendliness or pity... I was unsure.

"There is no where but here" he said
"The time of breaking rules... is over. You do as I say and everyone can live contently. Going behind my back will only lead to pain. And discord. And it shall not be my own" he warned, looking straight at her

"Now come, have a drink Psyche, get to know your new people. You no longer rest beneath us, but with us" he smiled to her
Everyone dispersed, back to their own conversation as Aphrodite surprisingly approached me
"This is what you wanted?" she asked

"No" I said simply
"You made a fool of me" she spat
"And you tried to make one of me when you sent that poor girl to my chambers" I said, losing my patience
"Well... good job she was stupid enough to open your gift then, is it not?" She tilted her head innocently

"Psyche deserves love. Even if it is with a son of yours" I said
"There is nothing wrong with my son" she defended angrily
"No? I have heard rumours too Aphrodite, everyone knows he was seeing her in the darkness to woo her. Scared of what his face and status would do to her" I threw at her

"You know nothing" she said
"I know that you take issue with him finding love in someone kind and decent. Someone mortal like the very notion is beneath you. Whilst your own husband fails to see every gesture and kiss you throw Ares' way" I said

"Persephone. Zeus would like a word" Hades interrupted us
"Everything alright?" He asked
"Of course" she smiled
"Congratulations... Eros looks very happy" he said
