Love was a strange occurrence. It was popular though..

Adeline Anderson, commonly known as Adel lived most of her life not believing in love, and then she fell, hard. Her first and only love, Jonathan Kuminga was everything she could've imagined at the ripe age of seventeen. They spent two years together before it all fell apart. They went from whispering sweet nothings to calling each other every name in the book, all in the matter of three months.

Adel could remember it like it was yesterday, she had just left her Calculus course and asked Jonathan to meet her at her dorm. He only had 24 hours in Jersey before he needed to prepare for an Ignite game.

"Hey Jona, I missed you." She kisses his lips but soon realizes he doesn't kiss back. "What's wrong?"

Jonathan was stressed, he was preparing for the draft, and he just didn't feel like himself anymore. Adel understood how much this meant to him and didn't want to push him during his time of confusion.

"We need to talk Adeline." He almost never used her full first name and she feared the worse. "Jonathan, you're scaring me."

She sat away from him creating a distance. As the time got closer to this very day, she knew it was only a matter of time before they broke up.

Their argument was a conversation that went on for hours, by the end she was in tears and her voice was hoarse. She vowed to never fall in love again. That's why she planned to marry for business instead. Once Jonathan was out of the picture, her father could go back to marrying her off to the son of a colleague.

Trey Jones was a nice guy, but he was 27 and there was a reason he was single to begin with. Adel still agreed to go on with it. It didn't matter anyways, she liked to stay to herself. Her only agreement, she would hate to be broken is Trey stepping outside of their relationship without telling her. He was interested in sex all of the time and she wasn't. He made her uncomfortable once, she never let him near her sexually again. For their marriage to work, they came to this agreement. She knew of his concubines and they all signed NDA's keeping their relations more than private, they were legally bonded.

Martha's Vineyard, the location where Adel would then become a Jones. All of her friends and family would be in town for the week preparing for the nuptials. Only her close circle knew the details of her upcoming marriage and none them disagreed with her marrying for money essentially. There was one person in the world that never imagined she would move on from him because he never moved on from her.

Jonathan had been drafted to the Golden State Warriors and that was an amazing accomplishment, now a champion and rising talent in the league, he couldn't have asked for a better life until his flashed in front of his eyes.

The team would receive fan mail at the Chase Center and it would be distributed at the end of practice. Today was mail day.

"Alright boys, there's a bunch of mail here. Its split up by name, all wrapped in rubber bands. Take your time and I'll see you at tonight's game." Kerr announced.

As the guys opened their mail they laughed at some of the outrageous things they would receive or are asked.

'Would you marry me?', 'How did it feel to lose to the Lakers?'

"Hey JK, what's that?" Moody asked looking at the fancy envelope. "No idea" He flipped the envelope to the front recognizing the name:

Asani Anderson, Adel's sister.

His heart sank as he read the words:

you are cordially invited to the upcoming nuptials of Adeline Jaye Anderson and Tremaine Fredrick Jones.
