Buckle up, they about to piss you off.
"Laila, what are you about to do?" Jenne asked running after her. Laila was on a mission to confront Devin about being spotted with Kendall, Kendall sitting courtside at his game vs the Lakers and attending the same after party as her.
Now although they weren't spotted at the after party together, she felt he had no reason in the world to be at dinner with his ex. Especially after saying she had nothing to worry about. If he needed closure, he could've communicated that but he was radio silent.
Laila wasn't going down without a fight and if that meant she needed to hurt his feelings, she would. Right now her emotions were all over the place. Their child had her sick throughout the day and all she wanted was to be held but that clearly wasn't happening.
Devin was home and hosting a kickback. Just a few of his guys, including Odell, Kevin and Druski. There was as liquor all over the place and a few girls were indulging in everything under the sun. He hadn't been to or hosted a wild party in awhile. All his hard work going down the drain. For someone who has changing for the better. This reset was disappointing.
His conversation with Kendall went well, so well that they spent most of the weekend together. Just reflecting. Some flirting here and there. But something within him didn't feel right and as the time went on, even while being at the same places as Kendall, he worked to distance himself from her. The damage was done, he knew his face was all over the media and he couldn't take it back.
This party was to take his mind off the impending lashing he would receive when Laila showed up. He knew she would. He had gone too many days without saying anything.
Having the key to his home and the passcode to his gate, Laila easily made her way up the driveway of the mansion in the desert. The sickening part of it all was, she knew who some of those cars belonged to.
"You sure you wanna do this?" Jenne asked. Trying to be supportive of her friend, she understood the predicament that Laila was in. Being torn between raging at everyone in sight or simply letting it go was a lot to think about.
"Yeah, I need to get this over with." This was one of those days where Laila dressed herself in the morning outside of sweats. She looked good, probably better than normal because she was starting to glow. By now her girls knew and that's all that mattered. As badly as she would've loved to smack someone who pissed her off, she couldn't. Jenne was prepared to do it for her.
The door was unlocked, which she wasn't surprised about. She could smell the weed and the sour rubbing alcohol aroma as she entered. Most of the people there paid her no mind. Kevin, being more sound, mind and body than everyone, noticed her first.
She could see him mutter, "Shit." Under his breath, but he didn't have enough time to warn Devin that she arrived.
"Crazy that a whole party is happening in this freshly cleaned house." Odell walked in from the kitchen and could see Laila's side profile. He shook his head knowing none of this should be happening but, Devin was grown. He followed his own rules.
"I'll make sure it's cleaned up Lai. How you doing?" He was trying to smooth things over before they blew up. Laila gave him as look and that let him know to let her be.
"I would be better knowing where Devin is." The daggers she sent could melt an iceberg. Her attempt to hold it together was weakening. The half dressed girls prancing around with the expensive wine glasses his mother bought him pissed her off even more.
"He in his room." As the words left his mouth, Devin appeared at the bottom of the staircase with his durag on. The one seemingly in her favorite color, pink.
