"This is some bullshit." The Cali sun did her no justice as she stood on the sidewalk in downtown San Francisco. Someone broke into Seven's rental and that would be putting her behind on her duties on engagement day. Of all things that could happen, someone stole her gym bag and some bags from Michaels'. Supplies needed for tonight."It's fine, don't panic! You're okay." Sydel assure her everything was fine. "I'm gonna send Mychal and Andrew out and you can switch places with her. We want you to feel safe and not be alone."
"Jordan is on his way to pick you up." Damion added from the background.
She didn't care who did what, as long as she was far away from that place and the car as soon as possible.
Jordan was pissed off, not because he had to detour, but because Seven was out alone when the robbery happened in the first place. He didn't know if she as in the car or not, all he knew was she needed someone there with her while talking to SFPD.
The look on her face when he arrived was etched in his mind. She was mortified and visibly shaken up. As soon as he reached her, she buried her face into his chest. "What happened?"
"I was in the store trying to get some last minute things and that's when I heard the alarm. When I got outside, they were gone and there was glass everywhere. I can't even think of what was all taken." He knew she had shed tears due to the wetness of his shirt.
After she spoke to the police and the car was towed away, Seven didn't have much to say. She sat in the car as Jordan signed off the damaged goods to go to the nearest lot. They would handle that situation on Monday.
The ride was silent due to neither of them wanting to say the wrong thing. A lot was on his mind. Only one thing was on hers. Jordan reached his hand out and she took it, giving it a squeeze.
"You wanna get something to eat?"
"I'm not hungry right now. Maybe later. Thank you though."
The first stop would be Michael's since that was the place with the items they really needed. Jordan pushed the rather small cart as Seven walked through the aisles dropping various things in it.
"It might not make you feel better but, the ass looks great in those pants." She turned around slowly and gave him a look before blushing and turning away.
"You're a mess." She simply stated while continuing her journey. "At least I got a smile out of you."
Jordan proceeded to make her laugh throughout their run on errands in that specific plaza. The next stop was to drop off the decor at International Smoke and then get the things needed for the proposal location.
Juan chose Clipper Cove Beach on Yerba Buena Island. It was in between San Francisco and Oakland. The perfect space to highlight and commemorate the next step in their relationship. They spent a lot of time on that bridge going to and from.
"He's sweating bullets like she won't say yes." Jordan shook his head as Juan ran to the bathroom again.
"Even if your highest hope is the answer you get, doesn't stop your brain from doubting it."
"You would know Seven." She took that as a jab, because it was one. "I guess I deserve that one."
Standing on a small ladder, she reached for her banner to touch the arch way, but she wasn't tall enough.
"Get on my shoulders." Jordan offered. Seven did as suggested and placed her banner perfectly before safely getting down. They were about to be completely alone again.
"You ready to go now?"
"Yeah, lets."••••
The island was absolutely beautiful. Even the military docks were nice. There was a lighthouse on the other side of the island that they stopped at first.
"Listen, for what it's worth. I didn't wanna cancel our date." Jordan admitted.
"Then why did you?"
"Because, you act like you don't wanna go out with me. Every time I ask you, you had an excuse or emphasized we were friends. I was over it."
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel that way."
Reaching the top of the lighthouse, Jordan snapped a few photos to send to J2 for reference of the angle. Seven looked out into the pacific as a boat in the distance sailed by.
"For what it's worth, it upset me that you cancelled."
"It did?" He now stood beside her looking at the boats as well.
"Yeah, I wanted to go. I only asked for that last change because I had booked another client further out and I would've been late if we kept that date and time. I didn't want to be late." Seven turned to face him. "You were so mad that you didn't give me a chance to tell you that. But after three reschedules, I get it."
"Damn. Did you end up taking the client?"
"No. I cancelled all my clients that day and stayed in the house. Wasn't in the mood."
Jordan spent enough time with Seven to know how her business worked and he knew that she only worked mobile. If she didn't work, she had no way to make that back for sure. So their situation being in the way of her being able to work, didn't sit right with him.
"I'm sorry. I didn't think you cared that much." He admitted.
Their walk from the lighthouse to the beach was long, intentionally. Getting in the car would cut their conversation and then they wouldn't have time to talk until later.
"I care, I just didn't want to get hurt. Of course, I ended up hurting you which hurt me. I didn't avoid that at all."
"Right." They stood along the beach, watching the waves crash against the shoreline. It was still afternoon and it seems the lights were in order still.
To make sure the lights didn't move, they dug nails into the sand to keep them upright.
"I'm also sorry for giving up too easily, not letting you talk. Oh, and doing my big one on you."
Seven laughed, she was eventually going to get to that. "I was going to bury you under the Chase for bringing that bitch."
"Like that?"
"Yes. But don't be flattered, wasn't just about you."
They finally sat down on a nearby bench to take a break. "What was it about?"
"Cierra is apart of the reason me and my ex ended the way we did. She was the second third someone cheated on me with."
Jordan jerked his head back before shaking it, "The eye you blacked was hers?"
"And I was going to do that shit again." Jordan couldn't help but laugh because he knew she was serious.
"You know what's funny? That was the reason I ended our situation."Seven turned her body completely to him, "You're gonna have to elaborate."
"She told me she got into it with somebody but it wasn't her fault and she wouldn't say what happened, where and with who. It wasn't the first time she was involved in something messy. I told her I wasn't doing this no more cause she always had too much going on. She wasn't really my girl in the first place but it was bad energy so it was no reason to deal with her further."
"Until you brought her to the gender reveal."
"Man you not gone let this go?"She shook her head before laughing, "Hell no."
"I ran into her the day before, invited her. It was stupid. She got on my nerves that whole time and I guess I accomplished making you mad but that's not really what I wanted."
Seven needed to know what Jordan wanted.
"Well, what do you want?"
"Shit, I want you & me but you be playing like you don't want that." The alarm on her watch went off and they both looked at her wrist. "Let's go so our friends can get engaged."
"We gone finish this later."
"You're not asking?""No, I'm telling you Seven."
