Jade fell asleep on the couch last night. She didn't want to make the space awkward, so she opted to sleep alone. When she woke up though, she was in bed next to Stefon.
She would assume that he brought her in there when he noticed she never came to bed. His arm laid lazily over her abdomen as his light snores filled her ears. This was the closest they slept in the last two days. With a sigh of relief she turned on her side to look at him. His purple durag covered half his forehead and the little pout on his lips was cute. Jade used her thumb to caress his cheek.
"Breakfast is almost ready!" Aaiden yelled running through the house, "ITS MY BIRTHDAY!"
"He's dragging it." Stefon muttered, not bothering to open his eyes. "He acts like you."
"Here you go. Starting with me already." The tone of his voice, she wasn't sure if he was joking or serious. "Marsean, I wanted—"
"Not today Jade." He got up, shaking the sleep off and walking into the bathroom. She rolled her eyes before getting up to join him. She brushed her teeth as he prepared for his shower.
He looked in the mirror as he continued to fix himself up. Tucking his durag to prevent water from wetting the tail. Stefon looked over at her briefly before turning away from the mirror completely.
"Your buttons are open." She looked up from her toiletry bag to notice all of her buttons were down on her onesie. He wouldn't deny it was a great view, but he just wanted to get as far away from her before she said something else to set him off.
"Umm, thank you." Jade fixed her onesie and made her way back into the bedroom to place out her clothes. They were going on more snow adventures and then later on out to dinner.
Jade adjusted her bonnet to make sure it was secure before going back into the bathroom. Stefon stepped out of the steamed box, taking his time to locate his towel. Of course she glanced over, checking him out before taking off her robe to place on the hook.
"Excuse me." Stefon tried ignoring her presence as she walked by but, that was impossible. This was the woman he had been with for most of his adult life. He's seen everything, good and bad. Right now he was looking at the good.
This is how we got the first kid.
He shook his thoughts away. Knowing he needed to remove himself before doing something to complicate their already complicated relationship.
"Mommy, is that lady coming with us today?" Aaiden whispered as they walked into the resort for today. Yanisa was staying at that resort and would be joining them because it was her last day and all of her work was done.
For the bulk of the weekend, they didn't see her but today would be different.
Stefon stayed to the back on his phone, checking in on Nova. His missed his daughter and honestly couldn't remember the last time she was in her own room at his house.
